Trivia:
Ted Dekker, author of the novel, was on set nearly every shooting day. In many cases he put three lines into the shot as an homage to the book cover. While some of these lines are drawn on walls and such, they also show up as objects (chalk, pencils, etc...). moreGoofs:
Errors in geography: The film is set in America, but the taxi in one shot got a typical Polish taxi-symbol on the top. moreQuotes:
Jennifer Peters: You were only half-right, Sam. Slater isn't real. But honey, neither are you. moreSoundtrack:

**SPOILERS** Hammy and predictable, in its unpredictability, thriller filmed on location in of all places Lodz Poland. Why the makers of "Thr3e" would go as far as Ploand to make a movie that supposed to take place in the US is by far the biggest mystery, far more then the identity of the serial killer in it, in the entire movie!
The film mimics far more "The Sixth Sense" then "Saw" or "Se7en" which many critics claim its story copies off from. In it we have this troubled and guilt ridden seminary student Kevin Parson, Marc Blucas, who's life is being threatened, together with those close to him, with death by this screwball who likes to leaves clues to what's behind his strange and deadly actions; thus earning the name from the local newspapers as the "Riddle Killer".
We get a clue to the "Riddler's" frame of mind in his insistence, in the messages that he leaves at the scene of his crimes, that Kevin should publicly apologize for what he did to him when he was a boy some 15 years ago. Kevin in picking his brain in just what the hell this "Riddler" guy is talking about comes up with the theory that he, "The Riddler", was some pervert that he caught spying on his then, as well as now, girlfriend Samantha or Sam for short, Laura Jordan, while she was undressing in her bedroom. This lead to the "Riddler" trying to murder Kevin who turned the tables on him locking him in a nearby deserted wear-house, without food and water, and leaving him for dead! Good work on Kevin's part but as he'll soon find out that the "Riddler" not only survived but wants far more then an apology from Kevin he want's him as well as his friends and family members , even his pet dog Demon, dead! Apology or not!
***SPOILERS*** The off-the-wall surprise ending in "Thr3e" really makes you wounder if it was put in when those writing the screenplay just ran out of ideas or scenarios and decided to finally end it with as little pain as humanly possible for those watching the film. Even Kevin seemed to joke about it, the ending, as we see him peacefully convalescing at a local Polish, or in the film US, sanitarium. You can't blame Kevin for ending up where he did, in a loony bin, from what he so painfully experienced in the movie. Much of it of his own making!
