As we all know, Fox did not order any more episodes of Dollhouse, and obviously they won’t be ordering a 3rd season of the Joss Whedon show.
But I can’t help but wonder if Joss Whedon might not continue with his world of Dollhouse in his favorite alternate medium, the comics?
He’s taken all his television series to comic form under the Dark Horse label: Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel & Serenity. It’s his vent avenue of choice when he still has something to say about his pet projects but no television studio will let him vent it.
How did I come about pondering the idea of Dollhouse becoming a comic? Besides Joss’s track record?
On November 9th, a viral website or two went live in support of Dollhouse.
There’s the creepy Rossum Corporation who is behind the processes that helped create the Dollhouse. It »

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is very sacred to Horror Yearbook and so is its creator Joss Whedon. So we are sad for him that Fox has decided not to renew his TV show Dollhouse. The good news for Dollhouse fans is that Fox will air the rest of the episodes beginning in December. Something they did not do with Firefly when they canceled the show before it had a chance to finish its ongoing story. Hopefully Whedon has learned his lesson and will give up on the major networks. With the way the Scy-Fy channel handled its successful Battlestar Galactica show, it is odd that Whedon hasn't decided to develop a series for them. He should really consider it. Next up for the writer is his horror film The Cabin in the Woods slated for a 2011 release. Meanwhile his fantasy/thriller Goners sits in development hell. »

How long have we been waiting for Joss Whedon’s movie, The Cabin in the Woods? It doesn’t matter because we’re going to have to wait another year.
MGM has pushed back the opening of The Cabin in the Woods from February 5th, 2010 to January 14th, 2011 because they’ve decided to convert The Cabin in the Woods to 3-D.
MGM has been noted in saying that the early response to The Cabin in the Woods has been so good that they’ve made the decision to convert the film to 3D since 3D is a great platform for horror flicks.
Of course, if 3D is going to look as good as it could, it usually needs to be applied while they’re filming a project, not at post-production time. I’m not holding my breath on this.
This seems odd to this fervent Joss Whedon fan and I »

Joss Whedon chatted with Sci Fi Wire about a few things, all of which I’ve been looking forward to: Dollhouse, season 2. The Cabin in the Woods. Goners.
Joss said that in the premiere of Dollhouse’s second season, we’ll get to see Echo cycle through a few imprints during an assignment. I can’t say anymore of what I do know without possible Spoilers. So we’ll leave it at that.
As for being left alone by Fox to do what he wants with Dollhouse? Joss says he’s afraid to be alone (joke) but that the show is finally more of the collaborative effort between creator and network that it’s supposed to be.
On Alexis Denisof coming to Dollhouse:
Oh, didn’t we mention that before? If you remember, they made note of it at Comic-Con. Alexis Denisof is coming on board to play a politician whose looking into Rossum. »

Joss Whedon (Goners, Firefly), co-creator and director of the hit Web musical “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”, recently told a group of reporters that a sequel to the online phenomenon could take any form from another web series to a full-length feature film. “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” is a musical film, initially produced exclusively for Internet distribution. It tells the story of Dr. Horrible, the aspiring supervillain alter ego of a nerd named Billy, his battles to be taken seriously as a villain and against his nemesis, the popular Captain Hammer, and Penny, their mutual love interest. It starred Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible, Felicia Day as Penny, and Nathan [...] »

So… what, exactly, is the deal with Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse?
Thursday and Friday, the Internet went nuts with worry that the number of episodes the Fox Television Network is said to be airing for Dollhouse was being short changed. The info distilled into a hyperbole of rumors saying Dollhouse was canceled because the season was being cut short. The truth of the matter is that Fox paid for 13 episodes, but only planned on airing 12.
Which makes us wonder: What’s up with that?
The Dollhouse History
June 4th 2008, Screen Rant reported that Fox was going to give Whedon a 7 episode run of Dollhouse, without airing a pilot for the show. They also gave it a Monday time slot, being the lead-in show for 24.
June 15th 2008, we reported that Fox “asked” for the first episode of Dollhouse to be reshot. It’s here that we felt something was up.
