- Continuity: As Harold and Kumar drive Neil Patrick Harris' car through Alabama, the license plates on the car clearly read "Virginia", but for one scene as they enter Texas, the license plates read "Texas". Then, later they are back to "Virginia".
- Continuity: When Harold backs the yellow sports car into the fire hydrant, the hydrant topples over and water gushes everywhere. But in a closeup of the rear of the car a short time later, there is no damage to the car, not even a scratch on the bumper.
- Continuity: When escaping from the Fox Hole whore house, the window on the car Harold is driving is shot out. In the next scene, the window is intact.
- Continuity: The passenger side head rest disappears and reappears between shots in the Chevy Cobalt Neil Patrick Harris is driving.
- Continuity: A car appears and disappears between shots behind the car Neil Patrick Harris is driving.
- Continuity: The bandage across Harold's eye moves or disappears throughout the beginning of the movie.
- Factual errors: The device Kumar finds in the car, and uses to call Goldstein, is a Nokia 770 Internet Tablet. It is not even a phone, and is wrongly referred to as Nokia 7710.
- Revealing mistakes: Neil Patrick Harris's car has cloth seats, but when Harold and Kumar are shown hiding under the blanket during the check point entering Texas, the seat appears to be upholstered in leather.
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When all three drive up to the whorehouse the white illuminated sign on the right side of the screen says "Girls, Girls, Grils."
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Harold and Kumar are in Alabama, the hunter that shoots and stabs the deer proceeds to claim that the deer was born in '04. The movie takes place in '04, and the deer is at least four years old.
- Factual errors: In the skydiving scene Kumar "swims" towards Harold. In free fall, you can't swim through the air, flailing your arms and legs just destabilizes yourself. To get two people together, all you have to do is face downwards and towards each other.
- Continuity: In Alabama, when Harold and Kumar are driving down the street toward the pickup basketball game, you can clearly see it raining through the windshield. When the camera cuts back, it is not raining and the street is dry.
- Continuity: While Harold and Kumar are talking to Vanessa and Colton, an extra in a blue sweatshirt is seen walking past them four times.
- Revealing mistakes: When Harold and Kumar are in prison, you can see Big Bob's rank is clearly upside down.
- Factual errors: In the sky diving scene, Kumar holds onto Harold while Harold opens the parachute. It would be impossible for Kumar to remain holding on when the parachute opens up due to the sudden change of momentum.
- Factual errors: The State Troopers watching the checkpoint where Harold, Kumar, and NPH are stopped are wearing Louisiana State Police uniforms, but with Virginia State Police patches.
- Continuity: In the airport scene with Vanessa, Harold's passport switches from his right hand to his left hand, and to his right hand again.
- Continuity: In the initial interrogation scene, after the agent asks "Is it freedom-o-clock?", Harold's hands are on the table. Then, in the immediate next shot, Harold's hands are off of the table.
- Continuity: When Harold and Kumar are petting the deer in Alabama, the deer is right beside them. Then, when the hunter kills it, the deer is a distance away from them.
- Continuity: When Harold and Kumar are taking the plane back to Guantanamo Bay, they have two agents sitting on each side of them. The agent next to Kumar brings his hand up to his mouth, coughs, and says "Queers!", however, in the next shot the agent's hand is down by his side.
- Revealing mistakes: When Raza asks Harold and Kumar to pull down their pants at the party, obvious body doubles are used.
- Continuity: Window position of NPH's car as it goes through the checkpoint. The rear window changes from down to up.
- Continuity: The Guantanamo Bay prison uniforms have black hoods that vanish midway through the escape.
- Factual errors: Guards at Guantanamo Bay would never take their batons into the prisoners cells, to prevent them from doing exactly what they did in the movie.
- Continuity: When Harold backs the mustang into the fire hydrant the ensuing geyser of water floods the street, but when it shows the basketball players walking over to the car, the street is barely wet.
- Revealing mistakes: Big Bob doesn't unlock Harold and Kumar's cell. He simply slides the door open.
- Factual errors: Whenever the Homeland Security vehicles are shown, they have flashing orange lights. Federal law enforcement vehicles use red or red and blue flashing lights.
- Continuity: Maria's hand changes position on Harold's face when they meet in Amsterdam. It changes from being on his face, to on his shoulder, and disappears.
- Errors in geography: When Harold and Kumar are put on the C-130 aircraft to fly back to Guantanamo Bay, there is no such airport as "Hewitt Regional Airport". The closest airport that large would be the TSTC airfield, ten minutes north of Waco, where President Bush flies in and out of. To fly from there to Guantanamo Bay, they would fly southeast. However, when they parachute from the plane, probably half an hour out, they land in Crawford, Texas, which is an hour west of Waco.
- Revealing mistakes: The aircraft they are flying from Hewitt in is much smaller on the inside than the C-130 they are supposed to be in.
- Revealing mistakes: When suspects are taken into custody, they are usually patted down for any weapons that may be on that person, such as mace, to prevent them from assaulting the officers. Yet, Harold was able to hide a can of mace in his pants pocket without it being confiscated.
- Revealing mistakes: During the skydiving escape scene, Agent Fox had a revolver handgun, which has only 6 shots. But when Fox jumps out of the plane and fires upon Harold and Kumar, he fires his gun more than 6 times.

- Factual errors: SPOILER: When Madame Sally shoots Neil Patrick Harris, she shoots him with a double barrel shotgun. He is shot twice in the back, and the rear window of his car is shot once with the same gun. A double barrel shotgun can only hold two rounds at a time.
- Continuity: SPOILER: After the credits, when Neil Patrick Harris is shown to still be alive, his car is still in the driveway of the brothel where he parked it, even though Harold and Kumar had already taken the car and are presumably long gone.
