After That ‘70s Show‘s Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for two counts of forcible rape, several of his sitcom co-stars spoke highly of the actor and prominent Scientologist. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were among the 50 people who wrote letters to the judge vouching for the character of the disgraced actor (and have since apologized in a social media video). Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, who played Kitty and Red on the show, respectively, also submitted letters on Masterson’s behalf. Masterson’s That ‘70s co-stars Topher Grace,...

Time was more or less invented to mess with the way you think about things, but not in the way you’d expect it to. From the moment we can form any semblance of memory and cohesive thought, we think we have a grasp on the whole concept of time, but in truth, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
For example, should you ask any of my fellow twenty-somethings what it was like to be alive ten years ago, chances are that you’d end up lead on a nostalgic meander about how amazing the nineties were, with all of the great cartoons, toys and video games mentioned, and every possible reason why it was a million times better to be young back then. You can then watch with great pleasure as you break it to them that all of those things happened closer to twenty years ago,...

Yo Momma So Extraordinary

Release Date: April 5, 2011
Yo Momma So Extraordinary reminds me of a Saturday Night Live-type skit in which the classic "yo momma" insult joke is turned around and made distinctly unfunny on purpose. Meant to be tongue-in-cheek, these un-jokes are supposed to set right all the wrongs done to mothers all across the globe by such standards as, “Yo momma so fat, when she sits around the house, she sits Around the house.”
In this book, Zachary Reese and Ethan McCreadie bring us new classics, such as, “Yo momma so conscientious, she asks me to ‘wrap it up’ even though we all know she’s been through menopause” and “Yo momma so loving and accepting that I almost feel a little guilty about what we did. Almost.” [...]...

It’s pilot season in the Us. The time of year where the networks finance and film the best (well, most marketable) pilot scripts that grabbed their attention, with the hope of a few being strong enough to warrant a series commitment for 2011/12.
Many will be so heinous they’ll never air; some will impress execs enough that they’ll go to series, only to be axed amidst low ratings; a handful may be lucky enough to last a whole season on-air; and a few may even be popular with audiences and justify a second season. Well, you never know!
Below is a list of 20 pilots that have my interest right now, based solely on their premise or the talent involved. Obviously, it’s unfair to judge these pilots before we’ve seen them, but this is intended to be a quick overview of the positive and negative buzz surrounding them right now.

Jersey Shore boobtress Jenni “JWoww” Farley gave an interview explaining her 9 Tips On Love And Guidos to promote her new book, O Brother Where Art Woww? (Not really.) Below, her 9 dating tips, along with my reciprocally thoughtful responses to them: 1. You can’t go wrong with cleavage: I can’t explain it, but I do know that boobs hypnotize the opposite sex. You probably want to rein them in at your workplace and air them out when you’re on a date. Rein your boobs in at your workplace, especially if your workplace is being on the show Jersey Shore. If your boobs aren’t reined in enough, the producers will be like “Well I never!” and their monocles will fall into their brandy snifters of bronzer. Than an Aooooooogahh! car horn sound will go off, but that was just coincidentally happening in the background. I cannot believe that JWoww’s first tip involved boobs.

Finally, people! The Red Band trailer for Kevin Smith's Cop Out is out now, and now we understand. The Kevin Smith mojo is still there, y'all. It was just hidden beneath the previously crappy PG-rated trailers and television spots. At long last, fans of Kevin Smith don't have to worry any longer -- his hilariously jejune sense of humor is still intact. I no longer have to carry the weight of loathing a Kevin Smith film around with me. What a relief. The monkey's off my back. It was the profanity, people! That's what was missing. The fucking profanity!
Nah. I'm just fucking with you. Cop Out still looks like hobo-ass. But now it's hobo-ass with "Yo Momma" jokes, bad movie references (really, Kevin: a little cultural timeliness would be nice), and a lot more fuck-yous. How bad is this movie going to be? Even the Red Band trailer...

Good God, man. This is insane. Avatar has become #1 six weeks in a row. It earned $36 million and currently sits #2 domestically (it passed The Dark Knight. Sorry fanboys) with $552 million. Titanic is #1 domestically with $600 million, so it looks like that record is going to be broken. What is definitely going to be broken is Titanic's #1 all-time grossing record. Titanic is sitting at $1,842,879,955. Avatar is at $1,836,143,000. So it's going to shatter Titanic's all time record. Crazy times!Legion flew in then got smoked. It earned $18.2 and barely put a dent into Avatar's #1 streak. Book of Eli stayed strong at the box office, earning $17.0 million. Tooth Fairy left $14.5 million under Fox's pillow for a #4 debut. Let's back to doing some action movies, ok Dwayne? One of the things that stood out during my trip to the Britney Spears show at New York's Madison Square Garden last night was the variety of merchandise available. After going to the Nine Inch Nails show on Sunday (which had exactly one T-shirt option, and that option was misprinted), it was amazing to see the vastness of Spears' retail offerings. The collection was quite impressive. In addition to the standard T-shirt offerings (including a $40 sleeveless number that seemed to be extremely popular, worn by one of the fans in the video below), there were a number of inventive alternatives. The underwear was most impressive: There was a thong that read "It's Britney, B----" (a catch phrase uttered often in the Msg crowd) and a pair of booty shorts that displayed the title of Spears' controversial single "If U Seek Amy." Some of the choices were slightly more confusing, like the tattered green military-style hat.

MTV has a slew of projects in the works for summer and fall, including a scripted comedy from Wilmer Valderrama.
Also on the slate, which includes a total of nine projects either greenlighted to series or in development, are a search for the next female singing superstar, a reality competition featuring 50 Cent and a rock-themed Making the Band spinoff.
Asked what common thread runs through the slate, MTV programming head Tony DiSanto said: "I think the key thing is that each one is unique, and that's what defines the MTV brand: the diversity and creativity and mix of projects. That's what Liz Gateley and her series development team have put together."
DiSanto pointed out that executives are looking for a range of scripted and unscripted programming. He said Valderrama's scripted comedy, dubbed Baby Dolls, came about from a long-standing relationship between MTV and Valderrama, who created, exec produced and hosted the network's trash-talking competition Yo Momma.
Dolls, told in faux-documentary style, centers on celebrity worship as told through the eyes of a naive and jaded personal assistant to a young actress.
