MTV's The 70's House

This show is definitely one of the best shows that MTV has decided to put out this year. It is very original and very funny, unlike any other show. It is hard for anyone I know to get bored while watching this show because it is hilarious. The contestants are all very different and are interesting as well. They keep the show running well with all the awkward moments and amazement of aspects of the 70's. The host, Dawn, is also a VERY unique character who is definitely someone that you will probably laugh at. The style of the 70's, including the furniture and the clothing worn by the contestants, also makes the show funny as well. In conclusion, this show is definitely worth watching.

Starts out kind of funny, but then gets old after 10 minutes
I actually don't remember seeing The 70's House on MTV. I had cable for a couple of years when I was a teenager, which was like 15 years ago, but I didn't discover this show until earlier this week. Unlike most of their reality shows, it was a unique concept - a dozen contestants, who are all teens, who took on the challenge of stepping back in time to the 1970s, literally. They resided in a Brady Bunch type house, as well as wore the fashion, had to use the slang, and eat a certain diet, all characteristic of the decade. So that meant they had to give up their cell phones, laptops, and other technology. If they mentioned anything from the 21st century in conversation, they got eliminated. It did have the potential to be a cute and humorous show, but it's hard to ignore how staged and phony it is. Which is a bummer, because it would've been fascinating to see people's genuine reactions. The teens were super annoying. They got on my nerves with their incessant complaining. I personally would love to see what it was like to live during the 70s. I don't think I could live without my phone though. And I do kind of agree with them about the clothes... They were a bit hideous. They have come back in style, but I do realize what you see nowadays is an upgrade. Like Free People, for example. They're a modernized version of 70s clothing. Otherwise, it's something that I would be curious to try. After 10 or so minutes, maybe 20 at the longest, the show starts to get really boring, and I think it's because the personalities of the teens were a turn off. People who are reality show addicts will most likely enjoy it, but as for me, I couldn't sit through a whole episode.
