Mark Wahlberg's wife expecting baby girl

29 October 2009 6:50 AM, PDT | Digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news »

Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he and his wife are expecting a baby girl. The Max Payne star, who already has three children with model Rhea Durham, told People that four kids was probably enough. "I'm having another girl, so I'll have two girls and two boys. I'm the youngest of nine, and my dad has a few others," he said. "No, four is enough. We were all raised with a lot of love. But we didn't get the kind of attention I think that we all needed. "My parents had (more) »

Beyonce faces new heartbreak over Wonder Woman dream

7 October 2009 3:45 AM, PDT | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

Congratulations to those websites that didn't mindlessly repeat the blatant nonsense that Beyonce was to be Wonder Woman.

You didn't need the superheroine's golden lasso of truth to realise the story was fiction.

Beyonce had previously expressed an interest in the role and a contributor to the site Comic Book Movie yesterday posted a bogus report claiming there had been a press conference at which the singer listed Wonder Woman among her upcoming movie projects. It said the film would start production in mid-2010 for release in late 2011.

The hoax article said the writers were Stuart Beattie and David Elliott, who penned G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and the director would be John Moore, who helmed Max Payne.

The writer has since admitted he 'made the story up to impress his girlfriend' and has been banned from the site. Thankfully, most decent websites had the brains to realise the »

Beyonce is in Talks for Wonder Woman Movie

6 October 2009 4:00 PM, PDT | WorstPreviews.com | See recent Worst Previews news »

Jessica Biel and Jennifer Love Hewitt have previously expressed interest in starring in a "Wonder Woman" film, but according to ComicBookMovie, the role may have already gone to Beyonce. During a press junket, the singer/actress revealed that she will be meeting with "GI Joe" writers Stuart Beatti and David Elliot, and director John Moore (Max Payne) in a couple of months and that things will get going by mid-2010 for a late 2011 release. This isn't the first time we're hearing of Beyonce being considered for "Wonder Woman." Back in November of last year, she said: "I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right?" Somewhere Kanye West is celebrating Warner Bros' choice to go with Beyonce. Click »

All the single ladies, put your hands up if you're going to play Wonder Woman!

6 October 2009 3:44 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Okay, so here's a bolt from the blue -- or a a lassooooooo from the hip. It seems that Beyonce is now in talks to become the new Wonder Women in a new movie, based on the DC comic book.

The writers of GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra and the director of Max Payne, John Moore, are behind the movie, and Beyonce is said to be meeting up next week to discuss the part.

Beyonce told a press conference that being cast as the character "would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing", adding that "it would be a dream come true" to land the part.

The singer/ actress has apparently already met with Warner Brothers and DC bosses, according to sources. The film could possibly even begin production in mid-2010 for a late 2011 release. »

Beyoncé Kind of Confirms She's Wonder Woman

6 October 2009 12:43 PM, PDT | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

A few months back, Beyoncé Knowles interjected herself into the superhero discussion, admitting she'd be up for playing Wonder Woman. Actually, she went so far as to say it would be a "bold" move to cast a black Wonder Woman, and there's some legitimacy to that, although I think the character shouldn't be a lilywhite chick, anyway, just because of the connection to Amazons.

Still, it was a little blip, no different from someone saying they'd like to work with Martin Scorsese down the line or something. But now Beyoncé apparently likes the idea so much she's putting a ring on it. Comic Book Movie reports that the singer and actress told reporters at a press conference that she's meeting with the writers of GI Joe and Max Payne director John Moore in the coming months to see how they can completely ruin this project. I'm sorry...that's not exactly what she said, »

English-language remake of ‘Reykjavik-Rotterdam’ picks up Mark Wahlberg

6 October 2009 9:35 AM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

Mark Wahlberg (Max Payne, The Departed) is set to star in an English-language remake of Oskar Jonasson’s Icelandic thriller Reykjavik-Rotterdam.

The story will focus “on a security guard and former alcohol smuggler on the Iceland-Netherlands route who is tempted back into illicit business by a dubious friend after encountering financial problems.”

The American version will move the route to somewhere in North America so Canadians don’t get agitated

Prisoners scribe Aaron Guzikowski is working on the script and Reykjavik-Rotterdam’s original star, Baltasar Kormakur, will be directing.

Working Title is quick to re-purpose the film thanks to the early buzz around the original feature, which is Iceland’s entry in the foreign-language category at this year’s Academy Awards.

No word on a release date or what the new title of the film will be. Can I propose Dallas-Rochester? I think I just did.

Mark and Will Are an Odd Couple in NYC

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg were in character Thursday as they filmed The Other Guys in NYC. We usually see Mark starring in action movies like Max Payne or serious ones like the forthcoming The Lovely Bones, but it should be interesting to see what happens when he pairs up with funny Will. The former SNL actor recently showed off his comedic chops in a tongue-in-check PSA tackling healthcare reform, which might not be a topic Will and Mark will be addressing much in their current project. Whenever your small-ish film is getting ready to enter a big, congested film festival, you need to get creative in order to get the word out there -- which is exactly what the folks behind the indie flick Kirot did with this fantastical upside down/sideways poster featuring a gun-toting Olga Kurylenko, who I'm sure you remember as the gal in both Quantum of Solace and Max Payne. Cinematical has received this exclusive poster ahead of the film's premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this coming Sunday.

The Israel-France-usa co-production was directed by Danny Lerner (Frozen Days) and stars Kurylenko as a woman who desperately wants to reunite with the daughter she left back home in Russia, though at the moment she's busy tending to her job as an assassin involved against her will with the local sex-traffic mafia. According to a source, the couple will host a small gathering for close family at the Good Shephard Catholic Church, where they usually attend Sunday Mass.

Mila Kunis Versus Natalie Portman

27 July 2009 12:23 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Mila Kunis is becoming Natalie Portman.s arch nemesis. She.s been cast in the Darren Aronfsky movie Black Swan in which Portman stars as a talented ballerina tormented by a rival who may, or may not, be a figment of her imagination. THR says the increasingly in demand Kunis will play that possibly rival, Lilly. Watch your back Ashton Kutcher, Kunis is on her way to rocketing past you as the most successful That 70s Show kid. It.s all thanks to Forgetting Sarah Marshall, in which she stole the movie as Jason Segel.s dream girl, pseudo love interest. Since then she.s been a hot commodity, with a long list of upcoming starring roles in high-profile upcoming movies like Extract, The Book of Eli, and Steve Carell.s Date Night. That should be enough to wash the Max Payne stink off. »

Kunis vs. Portman in Darren Aronofsky's 'Black Swan'

27 July 2009 8:49 AM, PDT | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

Mila Kunis has seen her star rise rather quickly in the last couple of years. Most of that, I think, is based on her disarming performance in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and she's also showed up in Max Payne, and has roles in Mike Judge's Extract and The Hughes Brothers' The Book of Eli, as well as Date Night with Tina Fey and Steve Carell.

But Kunis is about to take a big step forward out of easily defined genre movies, joining Natalie Portman in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan. The Hollywood Reporter indicates that Kunis, who turns 26 next month, will play Portman's nemesis, who may or may not be real, as Portman prepares for a big ballet performance. »

Now she is about to add another big name feature to that list as The Hollywood Reporter brings word Darren Aronofsky has cast her as Natalie Portman's nemesis in Black Swan.
