On a news day that's not so much glacially slow as geologically slow, you'll have to forgive us for reporting on the completely unsubstantiated rumour that Diablo Cody could be involved with the Playboy movie, as reported by Hugh Hefner on his personal twitter. The movie is set to tell the story of Playboy-founder Hefner's life, with Brett Ratner attached to direct and Brian Grazer producing. John Hoffman, who worked on this year's Oscars as well as monster comedy Igor, is already attached as screenwriter, but it could be that Cody will be doing another draft, tweaking the dialogue - or, of course, just meeting Hef for a chat.If she is writing the movie, it seems like another prong in Hefner's recent efforts to turn Playboy into a cuddly teen-friendly brand: see also TV show The Girls Next Door or teen comedies like The House Bunny and Miss March (or,

Last month, DreamWorks Animation announced their plans for the next three years. The animation studio was developing three possible projects for the November 12th 2012 release date: Chris Sanders' caveman comedy The Croods, Andrew Adamson's adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Truckers, and a Super Secret Ghost project which asks what ghosts think about humans. Apparently DreamWorks has settled on the ghost film, titled internally Boo U.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film tells the story of a ghost who is bad at his job and must return to ghost school. Jon Vitti, who was a writer on The Simpsons and King of the Hill, is working on the screenplay. And the film will be directed by Tony Leondis, the filmmaker behind the forgettable Weinstein Co animated comedy Igor and the not-so-great direct to video sequel Lilo & Stitch 2.

It seems even ghosts can suck at their jobs. Without old Beetlejuice around to help them through the rough spots, what's a spooker to do when he just stops being scary? According to DreamWorks Animation, they're to take a page out of Rodney Dangerfield's book and head back to school!
THR reports that a new project to be directed by Tony Leondis (Igor) and written by Jon Vitti (The Simpsons Movie), tentatively being referred to as Boo U., is competing for a fourth quarter 2012 release slot. The storyline centers on a ghost who is bad at his job and must return to ghost school.
Look for more on this one soon. Well, not much more, but some. Gotta keep the kiddies happy, too!

DreamWorks Animation is moving forward with a new untitled ghost project that is competing for a fourth-quarter 2012 release slot, report the trades. Jon Vitti (Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Simpsons Movie) has signed on to write the script for the film, referred to internally as Boo U.
The project will be directed by Tony Leondis, who last helmed the animated John Cusack and Steve Buscemi comedy Igor. The story line centers on a ghost who is bad at his job and must return to ghost school.
In late May, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said a "super secret ghost project" was on the books for a potential late-2012 slot. Boo U. is that project. The studio’s 2012 slate also includes the Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots and a third Madagascar movie.
Another ghost-centric film, referred to as Freakers, was being written by Joe Syracuse & Lisa Addario (Surf's Up) and centers

Chicago – Welcome back to the world of the Blu-Ray Round Up, a safety net for all the Blu-Ray titles hitting store shelves that might otherwise slip through the cracks. Every week seems to see more and more catalog releases and new titles hitting the next-gen format and it’s shockingly easy to miss a title that you’d like to add to your collection. That’s why we’re here.
This edition of the Blu-Ray Round-Up presents an amazingly diverse wave of titles from Fox/MGM that includes comedy classics, two best picture nominees, and a couple of new flicks that barely made a dent at the box office.
“Igor” and “The Pink Panther” were released by MGM on January 20th, 2009.
“Little Miss Sunshine,” “Napoleon Dynamite,” “Office Space,” “The Secret Life of Bees,” and “Sideways” were released by Fox on February 3rd, 2009.
