Darius Cain is an NSA agent called in to interogate the only person known to have had personal contact with a mysterious killer known only as "The Fugitive". The only clue in the witnesses possesion is a notepad with the words P.R.E.Y A.L.O.N.E. written on it. After discovering that this is in fact the alphabetic representation of a phone number, Cain unleashes police, choppers and even jet aircraft in an attempt to apprehend the Fugitive. After a thrilling, destructive chase the Fugitive is finally cornered and aparently gunned down in a hail of bullets. As Cain approaches the car the Fugitive had been driving, he sees the Fugitive has disappeared, and all that remains is a dog-tag with the words "Player One" written on it. The camera pulls back to reveal the words "END OF LEVEL ONE" on the ground, and a flurry of flashbacks reveal that the witness knew all along. The cycle restarts with Cain being called in to interogate the witness, as Player One restarts Level One.
