Judd Apatow is currently prepping a documentary about his hero Garry Shandling. The comedy impresario solicited any material that may be of use on Twitter yesterday.
I am making a documentary about Garry Shandling. If anyone has any great video, photos or anything helpful let me know. I am looking!

Though details on the project are still sparse, Apatow has teased some of the interviews he’s conducting on social media. Back in November, he posted an image with Kevin Nealon, and last month he posed with Sacha Baron Cohen and Jeff Goldblum. After Shandling died last year, Apatow, who worked on The Larry Sanders Show, organized his memorial. In case you were unaware, writer/director Judd Apatow was a comedy-obsessed teenager who somehow finagled his way into interviewing some of comedy’s greatest stand-ups. Back then, comedy culture wasn’t what it was today, so it was easy for a 15-year-old Apatow to score interviews with folks like Jerry Seinfeld, Martin Short, and other comedians of that stature in the 1980s. "Back then I was alone and I had a little confidence about it because I felt like: 'This is my thing. This is the only thing that only I know about,'" he told NPR recently. Apatow has turned those early conversations, plus more recent talks with peers like Louis C.K., Chris Rock, and Lena Dunham into a new book called “Sick In The Head.” Read More: Review: Judd Apatow's 'Trainwreck' With Amy Schumer, Bill Hader, Tilda Swinton, LeBron James, And More With the book on shelves now,...

Had these pilots been given the green light, we might have been without Breaking Bad, 24, Hannibal, Community and more…
It’s not all grumble and moan round here when TV networks decline to pick up pilots. Sometimes, we’re even grateful.
Hindsight teaches that every so often, passing on a particular show is the best thing a channel could have done. Not ordering one pilot to series spurs its creators on to start another, and frees up its cast to join new projects.
Had the failures below all thrived, there’s a chance we could now be living in a world with no Breaking Bad, Hannibal, or even South Park. Had these pilots gone on to enjoy healthy, lengthy lives, then Jack Bauer, Oberyn Martell, Chandler Bing and more might all be unrecognisable today.
Here then, are the TV pilots we’re grateful weren’t taken to series because their...
