Cullen Bunn Returns to the Deepest Catacombs: "In 2020, author Cullen Bunn released The Deepest Catacombs, a serialized comic inspired by vintage advertisements for the Dungeons And Dragons role-playing game. The story, told in 25 single-page installments, featured a different artist on every page. It was released for free for fans of comics, fantasy, and role-playing games. Now, Bunn is returning to the world of The Deepest Catacombs with an all-new 22-page comic that will be released in a serialized format.
“When I finished releasing the initial run of The Deepest Catacombs,” says Bunn, “I knew I would return to that world. I just loved the characters and the nostalgia, the magic and the monsters. And I loved working with so many talented artists! This was, of course, a labor of love, so it has taken me a bit of time to get the ball rolling again, but the story is...

The Puppet Master episode of Best Horror Movie You Never Saw was Written by Cody Hamman, Narrated by Jason Hewlett, Edited by Paul Bookstaber, Produced by John Fallon and Tyler Nichols, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Counting all sequels, prequels, spin-offs, crossovers, and even a Fangoria reboot, there are over a dozen entries in the Puppet Master franchise. Which can make the idea of diving into it rather intimidating. Especially since some of the films don’t have a stellar reputation. But while the series has ups and downs, there are some great entries. And its legion of living puppets – which can be villains or heroes, depending on who’s pulling their strings – are characters you have to see in action. So we’re urging you to give at least some of these films a chance. Starting with the very first Puppet Master (watch it Here)… which may be...

John Wick: Chapter 4 doesn’t hit theaters until March 24, but it didn’t stop the pic’s leading man Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski from giving exhibitors at Caesars Palace Colosseum Theatre an early look.
The Tokyo-set trailer opens on John Wick training in a gym. Laurence Fishburne’s Bowery King enters, “Are you ready, John?” Natch, he answers, “Yeah.” It’s a new day, new bullies in town. What’s John to do? “I’m going to kill them all” — whether that’s swirling cars around or beating ’em up in art galleries. “I want you to find peace, John,” says Ian McShane’s Winston. “The only path this leads to is death.”
Said Lionsgate Chairman Joe Drake before bringing the duo onstage: “Chad, as you might know, was a stuntman first. It’s rare that people go from driving off cliffs to sitting in the director’s chair…...

Cass McCombs gathered an unlikely cast of collaborators — Bob Weir, Angel Olsen, and Noam Chomsky — to help out on his new song, “Don’t (Just) Vote.”
The track is a remake of McCombs’ 2009 song “Don’t Vote” (from his album Catacombs), in which he tackles and tries to counter the apathy that can often keep people from going to the polls. The verses find McCombs and Olsen — with Weir providing back-up — listing all the things people can vote for, both serious and light, while the track ends with a spoken-word...

Right now, it’s understandable if you’re developing cabin fever. Many of us will be on lockdown and even if you aren’t, leaving the house isn’t a good idea at the moment. As such, streaming video is snowballing in popularity, as are video games. But if you want to widen your horizons a little, why not check out this virtual tour of the Paris Catacombs?
If you’re not familiar with the catacombs, trust me, they kick ass. Created in the 18th century after the Paris cemeteries began overflowing with corpses, plans were made to reuse the city’s vast underground quarries as an ossuary. But, being French, they did it in style. What lies there now is a tangled labyrinth of super-spooky passages lined with human skulls and femurs, many of which are arranged into intricate patterns. I visited in person a few years ago, and...

Long live Empire Pictures; sure, they shone briefly in the ‘80s before bankruptcy and a rebirth as Full Moon, but there was some real talent and joy in a lot of those films – case in point: Cellar Dweller (1988), a straight up monster movie with no pretense beyond gore and gratuitous nudity in a tidy 78 minute package.
Take out the credits and you’re left with around 70 minutes; certainly not unusual in Band’s world, as a lot of the films he turned out were done on the cheap and very quickly. But occasionally a real talent would stop by (Stuart Gordon comes to mind) and stretch the limited resources into something worth a look or two. Enter John Carl Buechler, the late, lamented, legendary fx artist and burgeoning director (Troll) who, in pure Band style, had to film this in 10 days with very little money and a severely truncated schedule.

Raise your glass for Pink. The singer just nabbed a role alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins in the sex-addiction comedy "Thanks for Sharing."
"Kids Are Alright" screenwriter Stuart Blumberg will make his directorial debut helming the flick and has only the highest praise for the pop star, according to EW.com.
"[Pink] could not be a more ideal fit for this role," Blumberg said. "She carries with her just the right combination of heart and edginess for the part of Dede, and we're incredibly excited to share her acting talent with audiences."
The film also stars "Love and Other Drugs" actor Josh Gad, and Edward Norton is onboard as a producer on the film.
Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, will play a "free-spirited" addict who bonds with Gad's character.

No stranger to performing, Pink is honing her acting chops to star as free-spirited sex addict Dede in Thanks for Sharing. Pink (real name Alicia Moore), 32, did have a cameo in Charlie's Angels Full Throttle in 2003 and another small role in Catacombs in 2007, but this is the singer's first leading role. Spotted filming in New York City's West Village Tuesday, she is set to star alongside such pros as Gwenyth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins. Her character shares a bond with Book of Mormon's Josh Gad, who, as Neil, is another of three characters undergoing 12-step treatment for sex addiction.

The new sex addiction comedy just got some rock cred.
Singer-songwriter Pink has joined the cast of "Thanks For Sharing," writer Stuart Blumberg's follow-up to his acclaimed screenplay for "The Kids Are All Right," according to The Playlist.
Blumberg will also be making his directorial debut with the story of three people who become unlikely friends while undergoing a 12-step treatment for sex addiction.
Pink, who will be going under her real name, Alecia Moore, for the role, joins a cast that includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim Robbins, Joely Richardson, Patrick Fugit, Josh Gad and "The Kids Are All Right" star, Mark Ruffalo. Pink has bagged a role in a major new independent film entitled "Thanks For Sharing", directed by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Stuart Blumberg ("The Kids Are All Right"). This represents only the second substantial feature role for the pop singer after the little-seen 2007 horror film "Catacombs", in which she co-starred opposite Shannyn Sossamon. Referred to by her birth name "Alecia Moore" throughout the press release (the only key to her identity as a music star comes from a mention of her "eleven Top Ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and...three Grammy Awards"), the singer/actress will star as Dede, a "kindred spirit"...

According to Vulture, Pink joins Gwyneth Paltrow’s Thanks For Sharing movie as a mild-mannered middle school teacher who must quietly overcome the death of her elderly mother while touring the cathedrals of Prague. Just kidding, Pink will be playing a “free spirit who bonds with a sex addict,” portrayed by Book of Mormon star Josh Gad. It’s not the steam punk ringmaster or aggressive acrobat Pink has been channeling for years, but it seems like it’s still in her wheelhouse. Plus, let’s not pretend she doesn’t already have the wardrobe for it. Put her in anything she’s worn after Can’t Take Me Home and she’s good to go.

Don't stalk Pink's kid
Did you even know Pink had a kid?
Apparently this isn't the three-time Grammy winner's first sojourn into movies- in 2007 she starred opposite Shannyn Sossamyn in something called Catacombs, not that anyone remembers it- but it might be her first under her given name. She's listed as "Alecia Moore" in the credits, and will apparently play a woman who gets friendly with Book Of Mormon's Josh Gad, who plays a sex addict in the movie.

Update: As several commenters have pointed out, Pink has acted once before, in the horror movie Catacombs. But this role is being trumpeted as her "first featured role on the big screen," so it will be a much bigger part for the singer. Sorry for the confusion. Pink's music shows up all the time in the movies-- in fact, I think I'll boycott the next trailer to use "Raise Your Glass" on sheer principle. But the multiple Grammy winner has yet to cross over into an acting career, even though it's a pretty common step from music stardom, along with "trip to rehab" and "ill-fated perfume line." Now, 10 years into her hugely successful career, Pink is finally becoming a crossover artist, and re-embracing her real name to do it. I received a press release this morning announcing that Alecia Moore was the latest to be cast in Stuart Blumberg...

If you have Netflix and are a horror fan in need of something to watch this Labor Day weekend, one look at this gargantuan list I compiled of the new terror titles Netflix has added for instant streaming in just the first three days of this month should keep you busy until Labor Day next year. You'll find something for everyone, from older titles to recent releases, famous to obscure, classic to not-so-classic, monsters to maniacs - you name it.
For the record, I considered compiling this list in alphabetical order or by year of the film's release, but then I realized I had already spent well over an hour just sorting through the massive catalogue of titles Netflix has now made available for instant streaming and realized Labor Day would be over by the time I finished arranging this list in any kind of order. Ready? Here you go.
