When "Twilight" cast members began tweeting about subjects involving missing clothing, I definitely did not expect to log on to Twitter today and find out that Christian Serratos decided to outdo all of them, but but her new garment-less PETA ad definitely succeeded.
Dane Cook and Ice-t, meanwhile, were less focused on saving fur and more intent on playing "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" this weekend, according to their posts, and at least one of them found himself in possession of some nightvision goggles. Check all of that out after the jump along with Danny Masterson's criticism for Andre Agassi, "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich's favorite childhood toy and much more. I'm @brianwarmoth and this is the Twitter-Wood report for November 9, 2009.

Short Version: If you let it draw you in with its factual approach, The Fourth Kind will creep you out more than Paranormal Activity.
Screen Rant reviews The Fourth Kind
After the extreme split in opinions on Paranormal Activity (I liked it), I was curious to see The Fourth Kind to see which side of the fence I fell on. I can understand how you can either love or hate the former, and I have a feeling something similar will happen with this film: Either you buy into the whole premise and let it suck you in, or you stand back and call B.S. on the whole thing.
The Fourth Kind opens unexpectedly, with Milla Jovovich as herself talking plainly to the audience. She speaks matter of factly and seriously, telling us the details upon which the film we are about to see are based. In addition to actors »

Simon Pegg came a little late to the "Unseen Prequels" meme that's been bouncing around Twitter this week, but I stuck his "Star Wars" proposal along with Jon Favreau's submission up at the top of the list today just the same.
Also discovering a trend late today appears to be "Twilight" actor Peter Facinelli, who's been exploring new Bluetooth headset technology. He and his "Eclipse" director David Slade show up in the Twitter-Wood report today, as does Facinelli's co-star Alex Meraz. Check out their posts after the jump, along with some more Pixar costumes from Lee Unkrich, and an M.I.A. performance caught by Nicky Hilton during the Jimmy Choo shoe debut for H&M. It all happened in Twitter-Wood, and it's in the report for November 3, 2009.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is definitely aiming to recapture his Pirates of the Caribbean mojo with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, if this trailer is any indication. From the humor on display to the cinematography, this thing wishes so badly it had Johnny Depp in its clutches.
However, it gets Jake Gyllenhaal instead. Which isn’t inherently a bad thing, but he seems woefully out of place here (and way too bulky to play the fast and deadly Prince). His accent is horrible. With a double dose of this and Sir Ben Kingsley, this might be unbearable.
However, I have hope — with a little decently shot action, any film of this caliber can be redeemed. Prince of Persia is directed by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’s Mike Newell, and is slated to be released on May 28 of next year.

Halloween tweets were way more interesting this morning since everyone was posting actual photos instead of just being indecisive about what to wear. "Twilight" star Billy Burke took the crown for most authentic, though, with his Sid Vicious outfit. He pretty much nailed the Sex Pistols' late bassist.
"Toy Story 3" director, Lee Unkrich, meanwhile retweeted a few incoming photos he received of well crafted character costumes. Gwen Stefani stood out from the pack in that batch, doing Woody's gal pal Jessie from "Toy Story 2." Then there was Fred Durst, who appears to have put a leg up on December, posting a shot of the Christmas tree he just set up in his living room. Check out all of those, as well as reactions from the World Series, Rob Zombie and John Stamos. They're all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for November 2, 2009.

Yesterday we put up a link to the Eventful page where you could “demand” that Troy Duffy’s The Boondock Saints:All Saints Day be shown in your hometown theaters. So far, the movie has scraped together 18 thousand votes; that’s 5 thousand more votes than yesterday. Sadly, it’s not a big enough number to warrant a wide release. That may be why Apparition decided to release the first 5 minutes of footage of the film today in hopes of gathering some more attention.
I’m not thinking this was the best move or their part because (as much as it pains me to say it) I’m completely underwhelmed at the opening. There are more clichés than a bad 80’s action film. Duffy has managed to explain everything and nothing at the same time. He writes off 10 years of absence with scruffy beards and hair and then writes that off with a 2 minute shave, »

Update: We’ve added a featurette for The Fourth Kind
With Halloween arriving this week, moviegoers are going to be on the hunt for that perfect spooky film in which to scarf all their Trick ‘R Treat candy. After the low-budget ghost flick Paranormal Activity carved up Saw VI, at the box office this past weekend, it seems as though Halloween moviegoers are in the market for something new (something Boo!) this year.
Following just on the heels of the scariest day of the year comes The Fourth Kind, a movie which recounts the “true events” of one doctor’s (Milla Jovovich) investigation into a town whose residents experienced shared phenomenon having to do (supposedly) with alien abduction.
So, alien abduction theorists, are you guys as dedicated as the leagues of ghost hunters out there? Will The Fourth Kind become the next fright flick box office smash? Or will it »

A new trailer has appeared online for the upcoming George Clooney, Ewan McGregor comedy, The Men Who Stare at Goats. And I think you’ll be happy to know that the first trailer wasn’t just a happy accident - the new trailer also makes it look nothing less than fantastic.
Along with Clooney and McGregor, The Men Who Stare at Goats co-stars the likes of Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey (that quartet of actors is reason alone to see it). It’s directed by Grant Heslov and is based on the 2004 non-fiction book by Jon Ronson. Just as a reminder, here’s the official synopsis for the film, and then we’ll get to the new trailer:
A reporter (McGregor), trying to lose himself in the romance of war after his marriage fails, gets more than he bargains for when he meets a special forces agent (Clooney) who reveals the existence of a secret, »

Happy Friday everyone! For the last Friday of October before Halloween weekend, we’ve again gathered the latest posters to come out for this week’s poster round-up.
Screen Rant’s wall this week now includes new one-sheets for Nowhere Man, Séraphine, Cabin Fever 2, Invictus, Collapse, House of the Devil, Late Fee, Jennifer’s Body, Zombieland, Everybody’s Fine, The Fouth Kind, The Road, Kniga Masterov (Book of Masters), The Bleeding, Gentlemen Broncos and Youth in Revolt.
In addition to that, we have a little somethin’ somethin’ for Disney’s A Christmas Carol and Heavy Metal.
Let’s get to it.

Editor's note: This week we're welcoming Mike Wong on board to write our weekly movie column.
Another week, another set of movies. Hard to believe it’s already nearly November when the Oscar-bait starts being dangled, and unless you didn’t see any movies last week, I’m sorry to say it’s a good week to stay home or do something not movie related.
The first of the wide releases this week is Amelia starring the swanky Hilary Swank in a movie that almost no one was waiting for. This biopic about Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot to cross the Atlantic, seems to have flown out of the Hollywood machine with every cliché and formulaic fixture intact. Currently scoring a 22% on Rottentomatoes.com, I’ll wager that it’ll probably experience some serious turbulence in the box office.

Full length trailer for the Disney/Pixar sequel in which Andy goes off to college leaving Woody, Buzz and the gang to be donated to a daycare center. Looks like a worthy successor to the franchise. The toys start getting real again on June 18.
In sort of a romantic comedy take on Misery, Meg Ryan plays a woman who duct tapes her cheating husband (Timothy Hutton) to the toilet and refuses to release him until he loves her again. Could be a cute idea but it's got a "wait for the DVD" feel. Watch for this one on December 4.
Dear John
Channing Tatum plays a soldier home on leave who falls in love with a college student (Amanda Seyfried) and carries on a long correspondence (hence the title) once he returns to duty. This is out on February 5.

Welcome to our latest episode of Freeze Frame! This edition takes a look at the recently released "Toy Story 3" trailer, which gives us (gasp!) the first hints of story for Woody and Buzz's long-awaited return to the silver screen. There are too many months to wait between now and the movie's June 2010 release; we've been watching and re-watching the trailer so much that a Freeze Frame became downright necessary. Enjoy!

Way back in 2000, screenwriter / comic writer Brian Lynch (on Twitter as @BrianLynch) sold a spec script for a supernatural action comedy called Nightcrawlers to Warner Brothers. McG eventually got attached to direct, but the project never went anywhere. Now THR announces that Nightcrawlers is back under a new title - Monster Squad. Sadly, the project has nothing to do with the original 1987 classic horror film The Monster Squad directed by Fred Dekker, they're just borrowing the title, since it's about a neurotic father who must turn to a childhood tormentor to face his fear of the dark and the monsters who haunt him. Over the years, Warner Bros has had other writers including Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, Toy Story 3) and Audrey Wells (Under the Tuscan Sun, The Game Plan) take a crack at the script in order to "find a balance of laughs and chills." This week:
The box office gets Wild; a Vampire Chronicles star moves to Cradlewood; Everything Must Go for Will Ferrell; Owen, Keener and Schwimmer Trust each other and Terrance Mallick’s Tree of Life withers in 2009.
Box Office
After a few years in post-production, Spike Jonze’s Where The Wild Things Are took the top spot with a mighty $32.4 million over the weekend. Catering to children and adults alike, it looks like this adaptation of the children’s book might make it to the century barrier.
Law Abiding Citizen came an impressive second with $21 million. The thriller has given a boost to the careers of Jamie Fox and Gerard Butler whose last movies underperformed.
Paranormal Activity scared up $20 million from only 760 screens for a $33 million total. It looks like the sky is the limit as Halloween approaches.
Couples Retreat plunged 47% giving the comedy a weekend take of just under $18 million. »

Only alert commenter Jonh-pt was closer with his prediction, I guess he gets to tell us all "Toldja!" But I feel good about being within $1.2m, it was a tough weekend to predict. #1 movie predicted correctly: 3 Weeks In A Row 1. Where the Wild Things Are They've got it getting murdered today, after putting up $24m on Friday and Saturday. Word has gotten out, it's not for kids. It is for adults, but only certain adults. That $100m production budget is looking daunting right now. Obsessed open at $28m back in April and finished with $73m worldwide cume. This one will do better internationally (naturally) but you'd have to think $150m worldwide is a reach. Result: 32.4 million (My rank: #1, $1.2m off) 2. Law Abiding Citizen On Thursday night Jimbo threw out a second place finish for Law Abiding Citizen, Athar joined him on Friday morning. I can't give full credit to Athar »
