Diana Kerew, an Emmy-winner television producer, died at her home in Glendale on Nov. 25 following a battle with cancer. She was 81.
Kerew executive produced more than 60 movies and miniseries for television, achieving success in the male-dominated entertainment industry and paving the way for other female producers as a mentor.
Kerew started off as a reader for David Susskind’s Talent Associates; she then became the first female producer at the company. Working for Talent Associates and later Time-Life Television as an executive producer, she worked on 16 films and miniseries. Some of these projects included the Emmy-nominated “Blind Ambition,” starring Martin Sheen, the Emmy-nominated and Peabody winner “The Wall,” and “The Bunker” which earned Anthony Hopkins an Emmy for acting.
Kerew briefly served as executive producer and vice president of television for Highgate Pictures before starting her own production company. Transitioning to focus on children’s programming, Kerew worked on several ABC “Afterschool Specials.

Series regular Alexa Davalos will not be returning for Season 5 of CBS’ “FBI: Most Wanted,” Variety has confirmed.
Hailing from Dick Wolf, “FBI: Most Wanted” focuses on the Fugitive Task Force, an elite unit that relentlessly pursues and captures the notorious criminals on the Bureau’s Most Wanted list. David Hudgins and Todd Arnow executive produce.

Not so long ago, in a story about Sam Mendes, Robert Downey Jr, and Oz the Great and Powerful, we listed all the Wizard of Oz projects currently bubbling away at various stages of development. There's now yet another potential guest at the party. Drew Barrymore, according to the folks at Pajiba, will be following Whip It! with Oz sequel Surrender Dorothy.The script, as originally prepped, was by Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction), but with Surrender Dorothy being set up at Warners (by Barrymore's Flower Films), which is also the home of a similar-sounding pitch by Josh Olsen, it's not unreasonable to wonder whether the two projects will somehow be merged. Whatever, the general idea is that Dorothy's great great granddaughter has to learn to wield the power of the ruby slippers to protect both Oz and our own world from the Wicked Witch of the West. Just like she did with last year's Whip it, Drew Barrymore will direct and star in a new Wizard of Oz sequel, according to Pajiba. Surrender Dorothy, based on a script written by Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction) way back in 2002, has the great, great granddaughter of Dorothy learning how to use the power of those ruby red slippers to keep the Wicked Witch of the West from taking control of the kingdoms of Earth and Oz.
