• Continuity: The number of cookies on the plate next to Pops changes between shots from about four cookies to five or six.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When Calvin is getting out of prison, he is casting a big shadow, but the two prison guards are not casting any shadows.
  
  
• Continuity: When Darryl is looking at the video Pops made with the teddy bear, the angle of the camera/bear would make it seem like it was at shoulder height or higher. When Darryl finds the bear, it is on a chair. That would have given the video a much lower angle.
  
  

• Continuity: When Calvin and Percy narrowly escape the police in the drug store, they hop into a cab, which is a Buick Century. When they get to Darrel and Vanessa's house, the cab is a Ford Crown Victoria. You can tell by the back window.
  
  
• Continuity: When the Mom is driving the van, her seat belt is on then off and continues to keep changing from on to off again.
  
  
• Continuity: When grandpa is eating breakfast, the orange slice on his plate is there, then not, and then is there again.
  
  
• Continuity: When Calvin gets beaten up at the hockey game he has bruises. The next day at the birthday party, they're gone.
  
  
• Continuity: In the overnight scene, Calvin wants a bottle. Dad puts a sippy cup on the table upside-down. In the next view, it is on the counter right-side up.
  
  
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When the fathers and sons are playing football in the backyard, and Greg gets taken down, his son comes up and you hear, "How do you like them apples?" but he is clearly saying something else.
  
  
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Calvin is being examined by the doctor, the tattoo on his arm reads "82nd Airbourne Division", this is mis-spelt and should read "Airborne"
  
  
• Miscellaneous: On the cover of the DVD, Calvin's tattoo is on his forearm and says "United States Marine Corps". In the movie, the tattoo is on his upper arm and says "82nd Airbourne". On the back of the DVD there is no tattoo on the same forearm.
  
  
• Factual errors: When Calvin is being examined, the doctor notes that the scar on his abdomen could be from an appendectomy. However, the scar is on Calvin's left side. Any doctor would know that the appendix is on the right side.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: The face of the grandfather clock inside the couple's house is painted on. It looks like the same time in each scene.
  
  
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Pops points the shotgun at Calvin, the sound of a pump shotgun cocking can be heard, but he has a double barrel shotgun.
  
  
• Continuity: When the beer waitress at the hockey game serves Darryl, Greg, and Richard, she only had 3 beers on her tray. When she turns to walk away she still has 1 beer left.
  
  
• Continuity: When Calvin throws the cup at the hockey player, it's empty, but when it hits him it has ice in it.
  
  
• Continuity: Pops gives Calvin a teddy bear for his birthday; this teddy bear has floppy legs. The teddy bear used to record Pops and Calvin was stiff. Two bears were obviously used.
  
  
• Continuity: In the end scene Darryl tells Calvin they don't have a back door. Yet it is seen in the Castrol Oil scene.
  
  
• Continuity: During the football game, Greg is next to Tommy in one scene. In the next scene there is someone in between them, then in the next shot he is beside Tommy again.
  
  
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: As Greg is pulling Tommy up by the helmet during the football game, we hear a series of "ows" but when you see Tommy's face, his lips don't move.
  
  
• Continuity: When the Mom is driving the van, her sloppy lipstick appears and disappears a couple of times.
  
  
• Continuity: When Walken and his men go to the house to recover the diamond, he orders one of them to take the baby upstairs. He then puts the baby in the cot and turns the light off. Calvin then starts to hit the goon across the back of the head multiple times. When the goon turns to look at the baby the second time, he has bruises on his forehead.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: After Calvin runs over the police spike strip in the GTO, the tires on the car don't go flat.
  
  
• Continuity: In the end scene when Darryl and Calvin are walking back into the house Darryl tells Calvin to be quiet so his wife won't hear, but she isn't home yet from going to get her father out of the mental hospital.
