When the Germans are taking the bridge, a soldier is seen firing a K98 left handed Mauser. There were none made left handed. The film was edited from the reverse side.
When the Germans attack the town, there are shots of either British or Canadian soldiers engaging them.. However, most of the defenders of the town are American. The US and British armies did not fight that closely integrated. In fact, the movie is supposedly set during the Battle of the Bulge in which the British only had minimal participation.
The Battle of the Bulge was top secret. The Germans went to great lengths to conceal the preparations for the attack. There would have been no newsreels covering the build up for the attack.
The Battle of the Bulge was launched on December 16, 1944. The weather was miserable: cold and snow. Many shots in the film show much milder weather or a different season.
The end credits name a filming location as 'Longmore Camp, Hampshire', it should be 'Longmoor Camp, Hampshire'
