"Outsourced" is a sly, fish-out-of-water comedy on NBC's Thursday night institutional comedy block, nestled in with "The Office," "Community" and " 30 Rock." ("Parks and Recreation" returns midseason.) Loosely based on a 2006 independent film by John Jeffcoat, this charming series, written by Robert Borden and Executive produced by Victor Nelli Jr. stars Ben Rappaport as Todd, a salesman for a Kansas City novelty company whose boss Jerry Stern (Matt Walsh) sends him packing to the subcontinent to head their newly outsourced call center and school his team in Mumbai the art of selling jiggle boobs, foam cheeseheads, toilet-shaped coffee mugs, and fake poo (and its ilk). Just as "My Name is Earl" poked a big stick...

While outsourcing company production has become a much cheaper way to go for American industries, there are some cultural and language barriers one must meet if the idea is to work properly. In Outsourced, we are shown a comical aspect of outsourcing. Todd Anderson (Josh Hamilton) is a novelty company phone center manager in Seattle, Washington. When his boss Dave (Matt Smith) gives him the news the company is outsourcing the department to India, Todd refuses to go. Reminded he will lose his stocks and pension, he boards the plane to India. Arriving in India, he...

New Delhi, Although Bollywood has an array of big-ticket films lined up for release in 2009, Hollywood could prove tough competition with an assorted platter of movies to woo Indian audiences, including "Changeling", "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Seven Pounds". Bollywood films usually have an upper hand over international films in India, but there was no Hindi release in the first week of 2009. Interestingly, the year began with Baz Luhrmann's period drama "Australia" followed by Colin Farrel-starrer "In Bruges", Australian dance musical "Razzle Dazzle" and director John Jeffcoat's "Outsourced" - all four opened to mixed reviews.Last year wasn't too exciting for the Hindi film industry, but it ended on a good note thanks to "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" and ...

Ayesha Dharker is so much of a perfectionist that she actually works on a role even before she gets it. That is what worked for her in the case of Outsourced. When she was narrated the role by the producer and director, they called the actor back for a reading with Josh Hamilton. So convinced was Ayesha about the role of Asha that she essays in the film that she went out to actually dress up like Asha for the reading. Says Ayesha, “when I went back, I dressed like the character I play in the film in every detail, down to the shoes and watch I was wearing. I got so involved in putting this.
