Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Some Kisses Only. Very Mild Sensuality throughout.

Violence & Gore

In the beginning of the movie, three Death Eaters fly from the sky out of the Dark Mark and begin wrecking different parts of London and Diagon Alley, & mainly the London Millenium Suspension Bridge.

Harry eavesdrops on Malfoy while on the Hogwarts Express and discovering his presence, Malfoy stuns him and stomps on his face once, breaking his nose and leaving him on the train. (A little bit of blood on Harry's face afterward).

Dumbledore cuts his hand with a knife and smears his blood on the rock in order to enter the cave. (You hardly see any blood because his cut hand is off-camera).

When Harry uses the Sectumsempra curse on Malfoy in the bathroom, you see Malfoy fall back on the floor with blood spreading through the water swirling around him, and blood spots on his shirt. Snape heals him and the blood slowly disappears.

When Inferi [corpses that are reanimated by dark magic] try to kill Harry by drowning him, Dumbledore uses a spell to create a ring of fire which causes them to go back into the water.

Snape kills Dumbledore with the Killing Curse and Dumbledore falls off the tower & onto the ground below. You don't see him hit the ground, but you see him close-up on the ground later, dead but looking uninjured.

As Harry chases Snape and the Death Eaters, Bellatrix Lestrange destroys the Great Hall and sets Hagrid's hut on fire.

Harry tries to chase Snape and fight him, but Snape counter-attacks his spells & knocks him backward.

When Harry goes to the Burrow for Christmas, a spell flies from the sky & lands on the ground causing a large ring of enchanted fire that surrounds the house, and Harry sees that Bellatrix is the one causing it. Harry, followed by Ginny, run through part of the thrashing fire and chase Bellatrix through a wheat field to a large muddy pond, where a battle ensues. Then the Death Eaters fly through & set the Burrow on fire, and you see the family and others watching it all burn with expressions of horror & sadness upon their faces.

Body Count: 1

Profanity

"Bloody hell" is used twice. "Tosser" is used twice At Horace Slughorn's "Slug Party", Cormac McLaggen eats a piece of food from a tray and Harry tells him that it is "dragon balls". Shortly afterward, Cormac vomits on Snape's shoes, but you don't see the vomit.

Some love potions are used.

There are several scenes with characters drinking alcohol.

Harry takes a liquid luck potion that makes him giddy and happy, but not drunk.

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE PG RATING. MUCH OF THE MATERIAL IS ON A DEFINITE PG-13 LEVEL.

All of the mentioned scenes above.

Many scenes which are more frightening than an average horror movie.

You hear a girl scream loudly and then see another girl writhing & shaking forcefully on the ground who then gets suddenly lifted into the air with her arms outstretched from touching a cursed necklace. Still in the air, she suddenly makes a strange screeching yell & has a frightened look upon her face with her hair blowing & then finally falls to the ground, twitching. It is a little frightening. When Hagrid picks her up, you wonder if she is dead, but you later learn in the movie she survived.

Ron takes a sip of poisoned wine and falls on the floor foaming at the mouth and convulsing. Harry cures him after a tense wait.

During a scene in Dumbledore's office, Harry 'spins' a ring on the desk, immediatelty & suddenly causing flashing dark images (of Voldemort's face, etc) accompanied by loud noise that all ends adruptly.

During the cave scene, Harry goes to get water from a black lake and a dead hand suddenly bursts out from the water accompanied by a screech and grabs his hand. This scene is perhaps the most frightening, causing many in the theater to jump and cry out in surprise.

Inferi (corpses that are reanimated by dark magic) start crawling from the lake to the rock and begin attacking Harry. They then drag him under water and you can clearly see the dead person holding Harry. They are not zombie-like, but they still have a strange, creepy look about them.

The appearance of Fenrir Greyback (the wolfish-looking Death Eater) is scary. He is a werewolf but doesn't change at all in the movie.

Dumbledore's hand is blackened & dead-like.

Harry and Dumbledore enter a house and see everything is smashed and thrown about. Dragon blood drips from the ceiling onto Harry's face.

The death of Albus Dumbledore.
