Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" may be inheriting an entirely unexpected fanbase, according to an exchange today between creator Bryan Lee O'Malley and "New Moon" actress Anna Kendrick. Apparently O'Malley has seen his comic creation cited repeatedly with Kendrick's name attached more prominently than both his and Wright's.
One of the largest showings of single-topic tweets I've seen in Twitter-Wood since the death of Michael Jackson occurred yesterday afternoon with the appearance of a rainbow over Los Angeles. In the face of a week that's been dominated by Tiger Woods gossip, this was probably a welcome shift. New problems seem to have appeared, meanwhile, for John Stamos, who let his publicist step in and tweet a statement today following an extortion investigation. As any Twitter-Wood followers know, Stamos loves taking pictures with his fans, and it sounds like someone tried to blackmail Stamos with such images for unknown reasons. »

Tracy Morgan may have had the most re-tweeted post of the day in my personal Twitter follow feed. I've re-tweeted it myself so that you can find out what he'll do for $15.
In other Twitter news, David Slade elaborated on a photo he posted yesterday, clarifying that the headlight shown does belong to Bella Swan's truck in "Eclipse." And speaking of "Twilight" movies, Jamie Campbell Bower took top honors for Twitter Pic of the Day today. I'm not entirely sure what his sign means or what promises he's fulfilling for his fans, but you can check it out and make that judgment for yourselves. Check all of those quotes and pics out below, along with Lindsay Lohan's paparazzi triumph, the puppet that hit on Ice-t's wife and much more. It's all after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for October 21, 2009.

Sometimes when director and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst stares into the Internet, the Internet stares back, and when you see what he saw, I think you'll understand why I selected this image as the Twitter Pic of the Day. Plus, if you're still contemplating Halloween costumes for this year, there's some golden inspiration awaiting you.
Twitter-Wood saw some drama in addition to the horror today, though, as Lindsay Lohan vented frustrations about communicating with Samantha Ronson. Those tweets are posted below along with Robert Rodriguez's first-day appraisal of "Predators" filming, David Slade's expectations for "Eclipse" today and Jon Favreau's in-house reenactment of "Couples Retreat." All of that and more lurks below in the Twitter-Wood report for October 13, 2009.

In an astonishing turn, Lindsay Lohan will indeed be keeping her clothes on for right now.
The 23-year-old Mean Girls star (and Herbie Fully Loaded!) has turned down the incredible $1 million offer from Hugh Hefner to pose for Playboy magazine. This is the second attempt to land the troubled starlet since she posed in the nude in homage to Marilyn Monroe for New York Magazine in February of 2008.
Lohan’s reps said the actress was not interested in posing in the buff for the magazine saying, “She’s not considering it right now.”
Playboy has instead cast an offer out to reality mom Kate Gosselin, which she has already turned down.
Lohan is currently filming Robert Rodriguez’s fake trailer-turned-feature length extravaganza, Machete, due out in 2010.

A few months ago I wrote about Jasmine Guy directing a stage version of Ntozake Shange's famous 1976 play For Girls Who Have Committed Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf in Atlanta this summer.
Now Lionsgate has announced a feature film version of the play to be adapted, directed and produced by Tyler Perry.
Tyler Perry plans to tell us about black women's experiences
Yes, that Tyler Perry — the man who made $125 million last year by bringing us movies like Madea Goes to Jail, the latest in his popular franchise of wacky-grandma movies he has written, produced, and starred in.
Because there's nothing funnier than movies starring a black man in a dress — especially to all the talented black actresses who can't get good roles if their names aren't Halle Berry, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson, or Beyoncé.

The creators of TV’s “Smallville,” Al Gough and Miles Millar, have signed to adapt I Am Number Four for DreamWorks and Michael Bay. The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen filmmaker is attached as a producer with the possibility of directing.
According to THR, the screenplay will be based on HarperCollins’ series of four unpublished novels (formerly six) co-written by Jobie Hughes and James Frey. You may remember the latter author as the writer outed by Oprah Winfrey when she discovered a selection for her prestigious book club was based on fabrications.
I Am Number Four is about nine teen refuge aliens who disguise themselves as high school kids on Earth. The fourth discovers an enemy alien race has discovered them after blowing up their home planet. Bay just can’t do a movie without explosions, can he?
It sounds like a perfect fit for the writers, who essentially created »

Lindsay Lohan has defended herself against her party-girl reputation - insisting she works very hard at her career.
The Mean Girls star is frequently snapped out and about on the club circuit, and has previously battled drink and drugs.
But the actress is adamant she is just like any other girl living in Los Angeles: "I do like to go out but there aren't many girls my age who live in L.A. who don't. But what people don't realise is that I work very hard during the day. I am a very hard worker, there isn't much time during the day when I'm not thinking about work. I enjoy going out but I enjoy working more."
Lohan recently scored a role in a new film - The Other Side - her first big part since 2005's Herbie Fully Loaded. »

In matters of the heart, it turns out that Justin Long is neither a Mac nor a PC - he's Pdg. "I hate to brag, but I'm pretty damn good," Long tells People, "in terms of loyalty and just being there." Not that he's perfect. "I have a time-management problem that's not very appealing for girls," he says. "I'm not very good with that - I'd say that's definitely a flaw that I'm trying to work on." And his biggest flaw? "I'm too good a lover," he laughed. Long, 30, the Mac Guy from the Mac vs. PC commercials who appears »

Matt Dillon is back with a bang. We haven't seen Dillon in anything dramatic since 2005's Crash and his recent comedies, You, Me and Dupree and Herbie Fully Loaded probably make him blush with embarrassment. But it's okay Matt, your latest action flick Armored looks awesome. Dillon stars alongside Columbus Short, Laurence Fishburne, Jean Reno, Skeet Ulrich and Amaury Nolasco in this crime thriller about a group of armored transport security officers that decide to steal the load they're assigned to protect. The start of the trailer may look like an Inside Man rip-off, but the story quickly makes a B-line towards novel and exhilarating. You'll have to wait to see Armored in theaters until September 18th, but in the meantime, enjoy the trailer, courtesy of Apple, where you can also find high-res versions. »

Mean Girls remains the breath of fresh air we knew it to be when it first debuted back in 2004. Unlike some films who manage to break genre but go stale, Mean Girls lives in a zip-loc bag of relevance. Whether or not we should attribute Mean Girls' value to its analysis of the unchanging nature of high school politics or to the film's well-crafted plot, acting or direction is open to debate. Even when Mean Girls falters it still carries itself well - better than most teenage-aimed fare that's come before or since.
