An American Werewolf in London's John Landis will come aboard to executive produce. (It looks Landis has become the godfather of werewolf movies just like everyone turns to ol' George Romero for zombie-fueled support.)
The film will be directed by Dave Gebroe (Zombie Honeymoon) from his original screenplay.
“Based on the impressive slate of genre films that Elijah Wood and SpectreVision are producing, I am very excited that Dave Gebroe’s clever and scary Bad Vibes has found the perfect home,” says Landis.

Dana Fredsti is writer and an actress with a background in theatrical sword-fighting. She has appeared in Army of Darkness and her love of the undead has resulted in Plague Town, a zombie novel that will be published this month.
We found out that she was interested in writing an article for Daily Dead and thought it would be interesting for aspiring writers. Continue reading to learn about how she got started writing zombie stories, how her stories have changed, and why there is still plenty of room for new zombie fiction:
“One of the questions I get asked a lot in reference to Plague Town is why I chose to write about zombies, especially when the market is so apparently glutted with books and anthologies on the subject. Haven’t zombies jumped the shark?

Micheline decided to join forces with her boss and now business partner Laura Byrnes of Pinup Girl Clothing. Micheline wanted to make clothes for every girl, and "Deadly Dames is what happens when you mix doll clothes with '50s sex kittens and, well, possibly John Waters... My clothes are...

If horror author Robin Z Becker’s sentient zombie Professor Jack Barnes is to be believed, none of us are monsters. We might have cannibalistic urges; our intestines might have burst through the decayed flesh of our undead tummies, we might –quite calculatedly, I hasten to add- form a small collective of like-minded zombie minions with the sole purpose of flaying a few unfortunate strangers. But the message at the worm-riddled heart of this memoir is clear. We are all damaged in one way or another and really only trying to make our way in the big bad world, even if we do have to eat a few people along the way.
Robin Becker grew up in Hackensack, New Jersey and received her BA in English from The University of Texas and her Mfa in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University. Brains: A Zombie Memoir is her first novel and...

As a participant in the second Fangoria Blood Drive (released on DVD in 2005), filmmaker Jake Kennedy quickly made our watch list. As his career has blossomed over the past few years, Kennedy has now completed his second feature film, Penance. Fangoria is proud to be presenting a special screening of the film on May 30th as a part of our Midnite Madness series at The Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills, California.
We recently caught up with Jake for a round of 13 Questions for Fango readers to get better aquainted.
Fangoria: What kind of educational background do you have? Jake Kennedy: I was educated in England and went to boarding schools from the age of 10. I then went to university and got a degree in Psychology and Cartography. Very handy!
Fangoria: I know you’ve got a history in the marketing/sales field, how does having that experience help you in the film industry?...

"Penance," finished production in 2008 and now the film, from writer and director Jake Kennedy, is participating in Fangorias Midnite Madness with a screening this May 30, 2009. Starring a host of celebrities including Tony Todd (Candyman, Masters of Horror), Tracy Coogan (Zombie Honeymoon), James Duval (Cornered), and Michael Rooker (Replicant) the eight dollar ticket price to view this independent film is a steal. And those fortunate enough to be in the Beverly Hills area for the screening might get to meet some of the filmmakers including Irish born actress Mrs. Coogan, director Kennedy and character actor Mr. Rooker. Unfortunately, some of us will be too far away to take part, but for others do not miss this opportunity!
