Watch & learn
batstuff30 March 2004
This is the best. They must have played this 500 times, but every time it is on I have to watch it. It's not often you get to see all these great heavy metal bands on tv, and it is nice to see them treated with some respect. Like a lot of other people, I grew up with these guys. They were a major part of my high school and college years. And as a guitar player, I can tell you that their talent is surely no joke, even if the hair and clothes are a little ridiculous now. I think every guitar player from the 70s on learned `Smoke on the Water' as their first riff. It's good to see legendary rock gods like Richie Blackmore and Alice Cooper get their due. And it is nice to remind the kids who are watching MTV today that Ozzy was the man (both with Black Sabbath and on his own), long before he was Jack and Kelly's bumbling dad.

Although I Disagree with Some Choices, I Love It Still

Warning: Spoilers
Every time this show is on you can find me watching it. First off, Carmen Electra looks ASTOUNDING in her outfit. Anyway, continuing. The show is broken into five parts. Naturally, some peoples favorites will not be on it or to low, but this leads to some fun arguing points. The show has many rock legends on it, both talking about artists and placing themselves. The list runs strong until the top ten, where in my opinion it falters a bit. There a few to many hair bands on here as well. However, it's great to see bands get the respect they deserve, whether they are hated now like Green Day (yeah I said it), never got much press like the MC5, or are one of rock's favorite acts like Pink Floyd. If only this show was on more often. Next time it's on I'm recording it, so I can pop it on at anytime. Overall I can't recommend it enough.

This is incredible

This list shows (as obviously stated) the 100 greatest artists of hard rock. It was chosen by the legendary musicians and journalists/critics themselves. It is an essential view for any rocker (like myself) or someone who is curious about the music genre. Every artist here is incredible, and listed rightly so, and even though I disagree with just a few of the choices, it is still an amazing list, all topped off by the sexy host Carmen Electra. My favorites are here (#21: Pearl Jam, #6: Nirvana, #14: Soundgarden, #34: Alice in Chains, #72: Foo Fighters) as are my least favorites (#10: KISS, #29: Motley Crue, #99: Bad Brains, #31: Def Leppard, #100: Quiet Riot), however, each artist here revolutionized Rock and their contributions remain untouched by any others.
