Eight Below (2006) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A brief kissing scene between a male and female character (no nudity).

Violence & Gore

A man's frostbitten (blackened) fingertips are briefly shown.

Dogs kill and eat gulls. Mostly feathers, but some ripping and tearing.

We see images of a decomposing whale. These aren't really disgusting, but there are wounds from animals eating pieces off of it.

A dog's leg is bitten by a leopard seal, and some blood is shown.

Profanity

Some mild profanities.

Brief alcohol use

There are several cases when some characters are in danger, this is known to the viewer, and can be rather intense.

A character falls through the ice (but is rescued).

A dog sled breaks through into a hidden crevasse, and a character hangs in peril (and is saved).

A dog falls down a hill and perishes.

When we see the decomposing whale, we see a snarling creature (leopard seal) jump out rather suddenly. This is not only scary, but it is upsetting since one of the dogs gets attacked from the incident.

A large piece of the movie is watching a group of dogs, hoping that they all survive, and unfortunately, some don't. This can be really upsetting and dramatic at the end, and it will send animal lovers and dog lovers into tears.
