The Twitter-Wood feed started following its first canine today, as recent hacking victim and "Eclipse" actress Jodelle Ferland tweeted a pic referencing her dog "Genevieve Ferland." According to @gena_fur's Twitter account, Genevieve recently turned five, hates nail clippers and dressed as a princess last year for Halloween.
Lack of clothing was on the minds of two other "Twilight" series actors, though, as Tinsel Korey seems to have not yet found a dress for the "New Moon" premiere, and Charlie Bewley reported on his love of not wearing anything. Remarkably, I made none of this up. Check it out, along with an award Arnold Schwarzenegger recently presented to Kirk Douglas, a scandalous "Full House" photo and the reason "Iron Man 2" will show up to theaters late if it gets delayed. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 6, 2009.

Jake Gyllenhaal puts on his sexy face in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Photo: Walt Disney Pictures I'm not much of a gamer, and that may in fact be an understatement considering in the last few years the only games I have played and finished are "Gears of War," "Burnout," "Uncharted," "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" and just a couple of days ago "Uncharted 2." I don't know where that places me in the gamer revolution, but considering that's about 6 years of gaming outside of playing a little "Tiger Woods," "NBA Street" and "Hot Shots Golf" I would say I am on the outside looking in. However, I'd like to think I know enough to at least open up a discussion concerning the growing trend of adapting video games into feature films, primarily based on the recently released trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, a film »

A test screening review of A Nightmare on Elm Street is in courtesy of a sneaky Ain't It Cool News reader. The verdict? He says "it needs work." In this spoiler-ridden critique , the reader says, "Bay and the director obviously wanted to Dark Knight / Saw it up by adding layer of grit and reality to A Nightmare on Elm Street . The set and makeup departments did an excellent job: Freddy looks like a freakish burn victim, many of the dream and flashback scenes are dark and have that 'Silent Hill' feel. It's like they watched a bunch of great horror films for inspiration... but with the sound muted. ANoES's story, dialog and acting don't quite match the imagery. The beautiful scenes in the trailer led me to believe this remake might be a serious Hellraiser... »

Given man's unwavering fascination with woman, it's no surprise that the female star acts as the anchor to a dominant portion of horror pictures. I mean really, who wants to see a bare chested man tearin ass through the woods screaming at the top of his lungs while a bladed assailant nips at his heels? I don't - I know that much, although I'm certain there are plenty of men who would disagree (and that's okay with me, to each his own!). The simple fact remains however, women bring a unique appeal and certain sensual atmosphere to film that no man ever could. And it's not all about gratuitous T&A.
There's a comforting quality in the hands of the heroine; a fascinating maternal strength that, as a man I cannot genuinely relate to. I can however admire, and in many cases it's nearly impossible to not admire the lone »

Last year, Jeff Schiefelbein's Saw: The Haunted Attraction scared up a lot of business and became recognized as one of Southern California's biggest and best Halloween mazes. This year, Scheifelbein and his crew have returned to deliver Sinister Pointe - a new attraction with two brand spankin' new mazes: "Fear", an original maze of Jeff's design and "Silent Hill" which throws you right in the middle of Konami's terrifying game series.
The thing that seperates Sinister Pointe from other haunted attractions is that it's not a "get-em-in, get-em-out" affair. Attendees are let in two or three at time which makes you the sole target throughout the maze. This makes for a much more intimate scare and if that weren't enough, there are games that you are forced to play in order to progress through the maze. "People loved Saw's interactive sections where you had to participate in the traps," says Schiefelbein, »

"Eclipse" actress Jodelle Ferland claims that hackers descended on her website, which would explain the disarray currently on display if you visit Jodelle-Ferland.net. Her "Twilight" series costar Ashley Greene seemed to be having a much better weekend, however, taking in the U2 concert at the Rose Bowl Sunday night. Greene was joined by Danny DeVito, Demi Moore, and a host of others who tweeted pictures from the night.
Elsewhere, Tom Felton and Emmy Rossum are still undecided on their Halloween costumes, but Felton has officially nixed a Dalmation outfit and Rossum may be warming up to Pippi Longstocking. Check out what they had to say after the jump along with Edward Norton doing yoga, Billy Burke's "Harry Potter" shout-out and Stephen Fry's new secret video game role. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for October 26, 2009.

The "last day on the battlefield" that David Slade tweeted about must have ended well, since Christian Serratos tweeted triumphantly that "Eclipse" filming wrapped in Vancouver yesterday. Elsewhere, he co-star Jodelle Ferland struggled with her Twitter icon after accidentally covering up her face with a lemon. Such have been the trials and tribulations in the Twitter world of "Twilight."
Miranda Cosgrove, meanwhile, didn't seem to be struggling with the new pair of glasses she TwitPic'd a look at for her followers to evaluate. Nor did Felicia Day seem to have any trouble with her new Twitter functionality on Xbox Live, which she appears to have installed. Check all of those out, along with some Soupy Sales memorial headlines, Paris Hilton's Hello Kitty diamonds and Emmy Rossum's call for Halloween costume ideas. They're all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for October 23, 2009.

For the past 20 years or so, Hollywood has seemed intent on proving that video games aren't fit to be cinematic source material. How else to explain the dismal quality of the average game-to-film adaptation? But games and movies aren't inherently incompatible, provided that directors use some common sense when heading down that treacherous adaptation path. Here's my list of five guidelines that, if followed to the letter, should help future filmmakers succeed where so many before them have stumbled.
1. Costume changes are okay.
As with comics, video game heroes are often defined by their distinctive get-ups. And in certain instances -- like Lara Croft's snug spelunking short-shorts and T-shirt -- those outfits are capable of making a relatively easy transition to the silver screen. But the rest of the time, keeping a little too close to a game character's clothing makes it impossible to take the material seriously.

David Slade's still in the thick of "Eclipse" filming, and in his most recent tweetage from the set, it sounds like there's some violence in the mountains getting underway with some celebration on the side. A few of his cast members still seem to have Rome on their minds, which is understandable given the "New Moon" footage premiering there.
In completely non-"Twilight"-related posting, Ashton Kutcher's been hanging out with Barbra Streisand and Jeremy Piven headed out to an event being held by Matt Damon in San Francisco. Meanwhile, Ice-t's been shooting up the post-apocalyptic world of "Borderlands." To find out what he thoughts of it, as well as what Amanda Bynes thinks of marriage and what Arnold Schwarzenegger's been up to with a bunch of boy scouts, click onward to the Twitter-Wood report for October 22, 2009.

Makeup FX artist Robert Hall passed on an exclusive new behind-the-scenes pic from Overture Films’ upcoming remake of The Crazies, in which one of the infected folks (played by Chris Carnell, the murderous miner from the 3-D My Bloody Valentine) enjoys his favorite magazine. Check out the photo below!
Directed by Breck Eisner from a script by The MacHinist’s Scott Kosar and Case 39’s Ray Wright, The Crazies updates George A. Romero’s 1973 chiller about a small town overtaken by a biotoxin that turns its residents insane, with the military that created it arriving to violently quarantine the area. Silent Hill’s Radha Mitchell, A Perfect Getaway’s Timothy Olyphant and Friday The 13th’s Daniell Panabaker star; the movie is set for release February 26. Horror fans love this time of the year. For those of us not living in La, there's the chill in the air, the colorful leaves, pumpkins everywhere, dead cornfields to explore … if you dare. So, in honor of Our official holiday, I have come up with a list of books and some movies every horror fan should at least take a look at, if not outright add to your book or DVD library.
Without further ado (and in no particular order):
Creepy Places to Visit:

Making its presence known at the Scream Awards is Martin Scorsese's latest thriller, the upcoming Shutter Island starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Scream unveils the world premiere an exclusive new trailer for the film during the show. Thoughts and description below.
The trailer begins with a freaked out Leo, then cuts back to his arrival on Shutter Island. As we see the the same footage from the previous two trailers—Jackie Earle Haley's prisoner, Elias Koteas' scarred face—the trailer keeps cutting back to Leo freaking out. The trailer eventually ends with Haley snarling at Leo, "You'll never get off this island!"
While there aren't really any new scenes shown from the latest theatrical trailer, which is disappointing, what it does well is editing it to have more of a horror movie feel that's reminiscent of Silent Hill. Who knows if that's actually representative of Scorsese's film, though.

Since its announcement, there has been tons of buzz surrounding the Warcraft film. Warcraft: Rise of the Lich King has already been put under the reigns of Sam Raimi (Spider-Man franchise, Drag Me to Hell) as it tells the story of Arthas, the young paladin prince who would be corrupted by an evil sword and ultimately become the ruler of the undead legions of Azaroth.
Speaking with MTV News, Raimi said “We want to be really faithful to the game…to the Horde and the Alliance and the mythology that takes place in the game, and the archetypes that the game presents… I think we would try and find touchstones within the game to make it accurate and true and choose one or some of the lands that are portrayed in the game with as much accuracy and authenticity as possible.”
Raimi followed by revealing that Robert Rodat, the »

Chicago – When most of us first heard about “Dead Space Extraction,” we had a cautious reaction. There have been several successful franchises that attempt to release a semi-sequel on another console and the results usually do nothing more than tarnish the original title. Such is not the case with “Extraction,” a game that plays just as it should, an expansion of the “Dead Space” universe more than a precise continuation. It’s one of the best Wii games of the year.
“Dead Space” was easily a gaming highlight of 2008, a truly excellent survival horror game set in the lonely reaches of space. It was a meticulously designed title, one where it almost felt like the ship on which you were fighting for your life could actually function. Of course, that level of graphic design can’t make the transition to the Wii and the atmospheric horror of a title on »

No, it’s not yet another “Highlander” sequel/reboot or TV series, in case that’s what you were thinking. It’s called “The Quickening”, and it’s a new cop show from A&E (cause, obviously, there isn’t nearly enough cop shows on TV at the moment) set to star Radha Mitchell, known primarily for her movie roles in films like “Silent Hill”, “Surrogates”, and the upcoming “The Crazies” remake. While this will be Mitchell’s first foray onto American TV land as the lead, it won’t be the first time an actress known for her movie work decided to take the leap onto the small screen. She follows in the footsteps of other notable movie leading ladies Kyra Sedgwick (the star of TNT’s cop show “The Closer”) and Holly Hunter (the star of TNT’s other cop show “Saving Grace” — gee, starting to see a pattern here? »

[Editor's note: We usually don't post reviews this long after a film's domestic release but since Pandorum is being criminally underrated by mainstream critics and is getting a staggered release across the rest of the world, we're making an exception]
Pandorum is a lean, mean terror machine of a movie that goes right for the jugular and never lets up for a single minute. It's a tense, claustrophobic nightmare vision wrapped in a scifi disguise that's sometimes illogical but always thrilling. More importantly though, it's the perfect escape from this never-ending cycle of teen slashers, 80s retreads and zombie / vampire overload (yes, I chose to see this over Zombieland).
If Pandorum was called "Avp: Pandorum," or "Resident Evil: Pandorum," critics would be falling all over themselves to praise Alvart for his economy of style and storytelling, declaring the film an instant win and return to form for the franchises. But since there isn't an established brand attached to the it, most critics seem to be at a loss, quick to damn it »
