Trivia:
Throughout the movie, many references are made to the original Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). These include the following: Cutler Beckett is corrected by Elizabeth and Will when he fails to refer to Jack Sparrow as "Captain" (Jack insisted on being called "Captain Jack Sparrow" in the first movie); Governor Swann breaks off an arm of a candlestick inside the dungeon (the same happened to Will in the Governor's house in the first movie); Governor Swann asks where the "dog with the keys" is; the dog is still holding the keys in the rowboat; Jack asks, "Why is the rum always gone?" (he asked Elizabeth the same twice in the first movie); Will gets slapped by a lady in Tortuga (Jack's being slapped by ladies he once mistreated was a running joke in the first film); Jack says "Hide the rum" when Elizabeth arrives (Elizabeth burned his rum in the first movie).

Goofs:
Revealing mistakes: When the bone cage containing Will, Gibbs, Cotton, Marty, etc falls into the water, you see the back of Cotton throwing it off himself. In the very next shot you see Cotton crawling out of the cage after everyone else. He would have already started swimming and not still be in the cage.

I just came out of the movie 30 minutes ago (as it was released a day before America over here).
The movie is visually stunning - the CGI is top rate and you won't spend the whole film groaning about how fake things appear on the screen.
Acting was brilliant. Johnny Depp once again proves why he's the only man alive who can play the role of Cap. Jack Sparrow. There's a great number of returning characters from the first film - including a couple I was very happy to see again.
My only fault was perhaps that this film lack a certain 'heart' that the first film had, which I believe came because the first film was something very different, which of course this film couldn't contend with.
That aside, you will hardly notice it. There's a good plot, wonderful sets, great acting and plenty of laughs. One of the best films I've seen all year thus far - can't wait for the 3rd one!
