I hope that Black Death is the film that finally earns director Christopher Smith some respect in the U.S.. Smith's record is already impressive with three great films on his resume, Creep, Triangle and Severance. His newest film will probably make theaters in the U.K., but unfortunately will only get a direct-to-dvd release in the U.S.. Check out our new Black Death gallery below and our first gallery here.

Medieval England has fallen
under the shadow of The Black Death. In this apocalyptic world, filled
with fear and superstition, a young monk called Osmund is charged with
leading a fearsome knight, Ulric (Sean Bean) and his group of
mercenaries to a remote marsh. Their quest is to hunt down a
necromancer - someone able to bring the dead back to life. Torn between
his love of God and the love of a young woman, Osmund discovers the
necromancer, a mysterious beauty called Langiva. After Langiva reveals
her Satanic identity and offers Osmund his heart's desire, the horror
of his real journey begins...
Though I have yet to see Christopher Smith's Triangle we are big fans of both Creep and Severance in these parts and I am anxiously awaiting his spin through period-set horror with Black Death. Sean Bean stars, which is a good sign, and an even better
