- Continuity: While wearing a longer flowered skirt, Jennifer is seen ripping up a black mini skirt with a studded silver belt. In subsequent scenes she switches between wearing the flowered skirt and the black mini that she previously destroyed.
- Continuity: When Jennifer is talking to Gary she lights the first match which burns all the way to the end yet in the next stage the match appears to be only half burnt.
- Continuity: In the scene after Jennifer puts on her dress her hair goes from newly done to messy twice.
- Continuity: After Jennifer opens locker #4, she puts on the dress and some make-up. Including the blood-red lip-gloss. A second later when she gets into Gary's Room there is no lip-gloss at all.
- Revealing mistakes: In the home video with the mother, we can see the mother and the two kids in one shot, yet the camera is still moving around and zooming when there is no one else in the room to operate it.
- Factual errors: Jennifer orders an Apple martini in the night club, when you see her drinking it although it is in a martini glass, the rim is salted. Martini's generally do not come with a salted glass, but Margaritas do.
- Continuity: Shortly after she takes off the gauze on her face and rips off the fake wound on her cheek, a spot of smeared blood is on her chest. In the following shot, she goes to retrieve something from the metal slot and the blood disappears.
- Continuity: Right after the car goes forward and rams the garage door, the view from inside the car when it starts to back up shows an undamaged door.
- Continuity: In the acid shower torture scene, the clothes of Jennifer Tree are changing twice. In the 8th close-up she's wearing all of a sudden a different dress (the dress from the teeth pulling scene). After that it's changing back to the original dress.
- Revealing mistakes: Just before Jennifer Tree is chloroformed by the bad guy, when the drawer opens, the match-box inside is standing upright. With the thrust of the opening that's impossible.
- Boom mic visible: (At 05:40) While on the telephone at the beginning a boom microphone is visible tracking along with Elisha Cuthbert's actions in the mirror behind her.

- Factual errors: SPOILER: The detectives identify themselves as "NYPD", yet the badge he shows at the door is not at all similar to an NYPD detective badge, or any NYPD badge.
- Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: Near the end of the film when Jennifer grabs the shotgun and points it at her captor, there are no shot shells on the spot on top of the gun, only empty holes. When Gary grabs it and points it at her, red shot gun shells are clearly visible on top of the gun.
- Continuity: SPOILER: When Jennifer is being strangled at the end of the movie by Ben she reaches up and grabs the knife Gary stabbed him with. It's in a completely different spot from the original stabbing.
- Crew or equipment visible: SPOILER: When Jennifer kills Ben just after he attempts to strangle her, he rolls onto the floor - his wireless transmitter and mic cable fall out of his robe into camera.
- Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: Jenifer and Dave are scratching messages to each other on opposites sides of a painted glass. If there was paint on both sides of the glass, they would only see paint, and not the message on the other side of the glass.
