Jennifer Lopez is seemingly everywhere since her hibernation. A new album, an awkward appearance in a cat suit (color me silly, but she looked good to me) and a whirlwind tour of interviews.

“I think Maid In Manhattan and Monster-In-Law are very layered movies. And that’s why they’re so successful,” says Jenny from tha’ block. “People don’t like sh*tty romantic comedies. Nothing that’s sh*tty is going to make $100 million.”
Well said if you assume that “success” only pertains to box office revenue.
Lopez is 40-years-old and I think she still looks, using ’90s vernacular, bomb. In an industry that prizes youthfulness, how does the Lopez deal with it?

Jennifer Lopez flashed some skin front and center on the cover of February's Elle - check out more images from the shoot here. Jennifer kept the Oscar talk out of this interview, but she did exude confidence talking about her upcoming album, swearing a bit and explaining why some of her movies worked so well. Up next is The Back-Up Plan as well as what she calls "Hyper J Lo," because she wants success now more than ever. Here are highlights:
On her successful movies: "I think Maid in Manhattan and Monster-in-Law are very layered movies. And that’s why they’re so successful. People don’t like sh*tty romantic comedies. Nothing that’s sh*tty is going to make $100 million."
On being a mom and a pop star at 40: "This is what I do-what, because I have kids and a husband now I’m not supposed to be me?

Jennifer Lopez has suggested that her romantic comedies have been successful because they are "very layered". The actress, who recently finished filming comedy The Back Up Plan, told Elle magazine that she is proud of her previous film work. "I think Maid In Manhattan and Monster-In-Law are very layered movies. And that’s why they're so successful," she explained. "People don't like s**tty romantic comedies. Nothing that's s**tty is going to make $$100 million." When asked if she felt (more)

Jennifer Lopez talks to Elle magazine about being a mother, performing at age 40 and her film career.
And no, she doesn't get into that controversial New Year's Eve sparkly skin-tight bodysuit.
Or her ex-husband's honeymoon video.
On her romantic comedies: "I think "Maid in Manhattan" and "Monster-in-Law" are very layered movies. And that's why they're so successful. People don't like s****y romantic comedies. Nothing that's s****y is going to make $100 million."
On competing with twenty-something pop idols as a 40-year-old mother of twins: "This is what I do -- what, because I have kids and a husband now I'm not supposed to be me? I'm a more heightened me if anything. Hyper J.Lo. Everything I wanted before, I want twice as much now. And that doesn't mean material things; it means to explore more, to think more. Being an artist doesn't start because you're 21, and it doesn't
