• Anachronisms: Briefly visible in the Lewis house is what appears to be a modern bottle of Elmer's Glue.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: Near the end of the film when Walter is locked in the bathroom, Arthur ('James Marsden') can't get in because the lock is on the inside of the door. Later, when he camera draws out to a wider view, you can clearly see the lock on the outside of the door.
  
  
• Anachronisms: When footage is shown of the Langley Research Center we can see a fuselage of an A-320, an aircraft not built until 1989.
  
  

• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): After Norma's Father runs Arlington's license plate number, he refers to the vehicle as a "Town Car". It's actually a Buick Electra.
  
  
• Anachronisms: Richmond, VA was the first US state to adopt 911 as an emergency number in 1977, however this movie is set in December 1976.
  
  
• Continuity: When being followed down through the corridors of the library, they enter a main hallway where it shows his followers coming from two different directions. Yet just a second before all five of them were coming from the same direction as he was.
