• Anachronisms: This movie is set in the mid-1980s. The Westin Hotel was built in 1994. The Providence Place Mall opened in 1999. Both are shown in the movie.
  
  
• Continuity: When Agent Divine is watching the dog in the kennel in Hollywood you can see a red chewing toy next to the dog. In the next shot of the dog the toy is gone.
  
  
• Anachronisms: Though the film is set in 1985, the United Airlines plane shown at the Rhode Island airport is painted in a color scheme that was not used until the mid-1990s.
  
  

• Revealing mistakes: The same extras playing tourists, wearing the same clothes (notably a woman with a fringed leather jacket), can be seen watching the "Ponderosa" theme park show, in two different scenes supposedly months apart.
  
  
• Continuity: While Emily French is in the restaurant she is smoking a cigarette. She puts it out to pee in a cup. After she finishes, her cigarette is back intact and she takes a drag of it.
  
  
• Anachronisms: The movie is set in the mid 80's. When Agent Devine is sitting on a bench asking people for script ideas, a green VW New Beetle passes by.
