inspired job

A short story , from Altamira to contemporary art. A story about a relation, about confrontation, about art and symbols and a sort of connection. Lovely animation, seductive humor, great cultural references and a sort of delicate poetry.

excellent animated short history of man and hunting

Warning: Spoilers
Plot is given - but no real SPOILERS, since the mood is all that counts!

The story begins in ancient history and uses only existing pictures to tell the old tale of Man, Hunting Deer. Starting with cave-paintings, moving on to Greek vases and even further to works of Duerer and others, the spectator always sees a man hunting a bull. Without words, only using modern technique for animating these old old images, a fascinating and gripping story is told. Changes of scenery are fluent and organic, technically this film is a masterpiece. But what made the film really the best one in years is the wonderful choice of sound. Drums and other archaic musical elements create the sort of tension that must have accompanied hunting ever since men existed. You feel an archaic and elementary force driving both hunter and hunted, extinguishing the rest of the outside world. This short film gripped me from the beginning right through to the end, and I wish I could have seen it again and again.
