Angelina Jolie is taking the celebrity diet to a new level. Jolie appeared on BBC World News from Cambodia while filming her latest directorial effort, the documentary “First They Killed My Father.” The actress and director discussed her high-profile split from Brad Pitt with journalist Yalda Hakim, but one of the more memorable moments came when Jolie ate scorpions and tarantulas with her kids. “Crickets — you start with crickets. Crickets and a beer, and then you kind of move up to tarantulas,” Jolie says in the clip (below) while removing the tarantulas’ fangs with her fingers, preparing them for cooking.

BBC World News anchor Katty Kay got off a cheeky one-liner that had her fellow Chris Matthews Show panelists chuckling (and in Kathleen Parker's case, perhaps blushing) when she assessed Florida's importance in electoral politics by saying "It's very big, and it swings." That's probably true, but it's fair to ask what good that does, given the state's history of electile dysfunction.

Sarah Ferguson's interview on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (weekdays, syndicated) was looping all day Wednesday on BBC World News with a sound bite about her not being invited to the much-hyped wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. But she had another, much more personal moment on the show where she confessed, "I blew it," talking about her marriage and her life.
Ferguson was married to Prince Andrew, making her the Duchess of York. That marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Further, she was involved in a scandal about trying to sell access to the prince, and has been reported as having financial problems. Hers had been the last big royal wedding before Prince William and Kate Middleton.
"I had it all and I blew it," she said. "And I made mistakes."

The late Queen singer is in the news again – this time because he is to be played by Sacha Baron Cohen in a new biopic
Age: Would have turned 64 this month, had he not died in 1991.
Appearance: Uday Hussein's more artistic brother.
He's Iraqi, then? No. Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara, in Zanzibar, the son of Parsi parents from Gujarat. The family moved to London when he was 17.
So who was he? He was the front man of Queen, a singer with a four-octave range, a mesmerising performance style and a sexually ambiguous stage persona.
Like Mika? No, not like frigging Mika. Queen and Mercury were responsible for some of the most enduring pop classics in history, including Bohemian Rhapsody and We are the Champions.
Before my time, grandad. You might well recognise some of their greatest hits propping up the rickety narrative framework of the execrable-but-long-running musical We Will Rock You,...

ABC's "Modern Family," Fox's "Glee," HBO's "In Treatment" as well as Kermit the Frog and Craig Ferguson were among the 36 recipients of Peabody Awards unveiled this morning by the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. The winners, chosen by the Peabody board as the best in electronic media for 2009, were named in a ceremony in the Peabody Gallery on the University of Georgia Campus.
The latest Peabody winners reflect great diversity in genre, sources of origination and content. The recipients included the aforementioned "Modern Family," ABC's droll, perceptive comedy about a multicultural extended family; HBO's "Thrilla in Manila," a doc that probes the hype, mythology and meaning of the politically charged Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier fights in the early 1970s; and "The Great Textbook War," a fair, balanced radio doc from West Virginia Public Broadcasting about a 1974 skirmish that presaged "cultural wars" still raging in America.
