PPV debuts of Abdullah the Butcher, The Creatures (Joey Maggs (Joey Magliano) and Johnny Rich (Rod Wilsford)), Bill Kazmaier, Van Hammer (Mark Hildreth), Doug Somers and The Patriots (Firebreaker Chip (Curtis Thompson) and Todd Champion (Todd Bradford)). It was also Somers' and Rich's only PPV matches, ever.
First WCW PPV appearance for "Ravishing" Rick Rude, launching what would become the Dangerous Alliance.
The Chamber of Horrors Match was originally going to be Sting, El Gigante, and the Steiner Brothers vs. Oz, The Diamond Studd, The One Man Gang, and Barry Windham. Cactus Jack replaced One Man Gang, and Big Van Vader, then splitting his time between WCW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Catch Wrestling Association in Austria, replaced Windham. The poster WCW used to promote the PPV features the original lineup for the match, with One Man Gang as a scheduled participant.
This show aired on the same night as the seventh game of the 1991 World Series, which saw the Minnesota Twins defeat the Atlanta Braves, who, like WCW, were owned by Ted Turner.
