While in British Columbia, Sir Ian McKellen developed an obsession with Beaver Tails, a long donut with sugar on it. He told Director Carl Bessai that his character had to have a line with "beaver tails" in it, which is how that piece of dialogue got into the movie.
When they filmed the part where Emile goes on the train, they didn't block off a section of the platform. As a result, you can actually see someone whip their head around after Sir Ian McKellen passes by them.
Sir Ian McKellen claimed that the budget was so limited on this movie, that they rarely filmed more than one take per set-up, unless it was absolutely necessary, due to a technical problem. The film stock was precious, and had to be carefully rationed during the shoot.
The house that belonged to Nadia (Deborah Kara Unger) was "haunted", and weird things kept happening during the shoot.
