  • The real Fraziers Bottom is located in Putnam Co., West Virginia just west of Charleston. However, most of the filming in West Virginia took place in the Fayetteville (Fayette Co.) area which is located roughly 50 miles east of Charleston.

  • David Daskal from TV's _"Average Joe - Hawaii" (2004)_ features as an extra in two scenes of the movie - when Rosie returns from her lunch time date with Tad Hamilton and in the bar when Peter gets a bullseye playing darts.

  • 'Josh Lucas' turned down the role of Tad.

  • WILHELM SCREAM: When Pete is watching TV and every channel has Tad Hamilton playing, there is a war movie where a Wilhelm Scream is heard.

  • Paris Hilton shot a cameo appearance as a skydiver who lands in Tad's pool after Tad takes Rosie home. The scenes were cut for time, but they can be viewed in the deleted scene section of the DVD.

  • Jordana Brewster was featured in a scene where she is shown as Tad's costar in one of his movies, but the scene was cut from the finished film.

  • While Pete is talking to Angelica in the bar, she makes a reference to what she calls "Big Love." The character Cathy is played by Ginnifer Goodwin, one of the stars of the HBO series "Big Love" (2006)

  • In the scene near the beginning of the movie, where the camera switches back and forth from Tad to Pete, Pete eventually sits down to dinner with a book. The book is titled A Good Man is Hard to Find, which is a short story written by Flannery O'Connor, a prominent Catholic author who lived in the Protestant-dominant south in a small town probably similar to that of Rosalee and Pete's small town.
