Alex Zamm (Inspector Gadget 2) will direct Marvin the Martian for Warner Bros..
Along with Zamm, writers Paul Kaplan (TV’s Big Wolf on Campus) and Mark Torgrove have been tapped to write the script.
Marvin the Martian will be a fusion of live-action and CGI animation, similar to 2003’s Looney Tunes: Back in Action, which was dismal failure for the studio.
Broderick Johnson, Andrew Kosove and Steve Crystal will produce the project.
Production is slated to begin sometime in 2010 with a release in 2011.
Looney Tunes: Back in Action starred Brendan Fraser and Jenna Elfman with appearcens from Heather Locklear, Joan Cusack and Steve Martin. The film earned near $21 million domestically with a budget of $80 million. Ouch.

A rather crude trailer has been stitched together for an upcoming supernatural feature entitled Nightbeasts . On a narrative level, it has us curious. On a technical level...ouch. Although I did have a chuckle at the line, "This was a wake up call for those bums..."
Zach Galligan leads the cast as a father who ventures into the woods with his son and encounters a malevolent force with Audra Wise.
Wes Sullivan makes his writing and directing debut for Treehouse Pictures after spending a good chunk of the last fifteen years working in animation on titles like Aladdin , Pocahontas and Looney Tunes: Back in Action .

If you've seen either "Coraline" or Pixar's "Up" in 3-D, you might have trouble believing there's a better 3-D movie from this year. But apparently the latest from Joe Dante ("Gremlins") is just that. "The Hole," which currently has no U.S. distributor or release date, won the Venice Film Festival's new Persol 3-D award after premiering at the festival this month.
So much for my earlier claim that "it’s really only down to 'Up' and 'Coraline' as serious contenders." Even as a huge fan of Dante's work -- including the highly underrated "Small Soldiers" and "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" -- I wasn't expecting his new thriller, about a family that moves into a house with a bottomless hole in the basement, to feature better use of 3-D than those hit films.
Other titles Dante's new film beat out include "Monsters vs. Aliens," "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Until Inkheart crashed and burned at the Us box office this weekend, it had been a pretty good twelve months for Brendan Fraser, who rediscovered a fair amount of box office pulling power with The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor and Journey To The Centre Of The Earth 3-D (in 3-D!!!).And he’s already putting the disappointment of Inkheart behind him by signing on to star in the live-action family comedy, Furry Vengeance, for director Roger Kumble.Fraser will play a real estate developer who goes to war with a bunch of furry creatures who get rather pissed off when his new housing development impinges upon their pristine Oregon forest.Ok, so it doesn’t sound entirely promising, but we’re hoping that Fraser’s easy charm will go a long way towards making this tolerable. And he has a decent track record with talking animal comedies (if,
