English actor Andrew Lincoln came into prominence with shows like This Life and Teachers, before becoming popular because of his role in the Christmas rom-com, Love Actually (2003). He played the role of a man in love with his best friend’s wife, opposite Kiera Knightley, and his confession was one for the books. That day, we all fell in love with Mark, and in extension, Andrew Lincoln.

"If I cross a line, I ruin it." "Everything's such a mess right now..." Signature Ent. in the UK has debuted an official trailer for a sweet new British romantic comedy film called This Time Next Year, arriving on VOD in June this summer in the UK. No US date is set yet, and this hasn't played at any festivals either, despite looking pretty good. Minnie and Quinn are born on the same day, one minute apart, in the same hospital in London. Their lives may have begun together, but their worlds couldn't be more different now. Years later they find themselves bumping into each other again. Maybe it's time for her to finally take a chance on love. Lucien Laviscount (best known from Emily in Paris) and Sophie Cookson (from "Gypsy" & Infinite) star in this effervescent tale of romance, friendship and two separate lives destined to align. Love is in the air in This Time Next Year, which is heading onto digital platforms this June. More on the film below.
It’s been a pretty good few months for fans of rom-coms. We’re still pretty amazed at just how well Anyone But You has done and we’re still now over Rye Lane’s emotional punch.
Now, Signature Entertainment has acquired the UK and Irish rights to Nick Moore’s rom-com This Time Next Year, as reported by Deadline. The film is written by Sophie Cousens, based on her own book and the film stars Sophie Cookson and Lucien Laviscount as the leads. John Hannah, Golda Rosheuvel, Monica Dolan, Mandip Gill and Anita Dobson also star.
Here’s the This Time Next Year trailer:
The film revolves around Minnie (Cookson) and Quinn (Laviscount), who discover they were born on the same day in the same hospital.

20 minutes in to Red Eye, a foot chase through Heathrow airport ends with a man making an impassioned plea outside a branch of Leon. He vaults over barriers like the kid in Love Actually and implores the crowd to film his testimony. Rightly wary of flash mob marriage proposals, the British holiday-going public are slow to act but get his message out: vascular surgeon Dr Matthew Nolan is being framed for murder and extradited to Beijing.

There are not a lot of actors in Hollywood whose presence itself on-screen exudes badassery. Liam Neeson has carved a unique niche for himself in the film industry, where directors and producers look up to him for serious roles. From Schindler’s List to Batman Begins, the actor has carefully picked feathers for his cap that are a testament to his effervescent acting abilities.
However, he often goes offbeat and picks up projects that show off a different side to his demanding presence on the silver screen, like he is about to do in his upcoming The Naked Gun Reboot.

For countless fans of the romantic comedy, Hugh Grant will always be just a boy standing in front of a girl. But speaking with IndieWire for his single-episode guest appearance as Ed Keplinger in HBO’s “The Regime,” the 63-year-old British actor seemed blissfully out of touch with the genre that launched his stardom.
When asked about Hollywood’s rom-com resurgence, Grant said, “I didn’t know there was one. What should I watch?”
Since the summer that brought us “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “Crazy Rich Asians,” movies about meet-cutes and star-crossed lovers have strengthened their foothold in streaming while taking leaps forward at the box office. IndieWire suggested Grant try anything with Glen Powell, a standout rom-com stud also known for “Top Gun: Maverick” who has been described as this generation’s Grant on occasion.

There’s much more to Nighy than playing grumpy but lovable men – think Pinter, Palace and Pokémon to name just three. Get your questions in by 10am on Thursday
When it comes to grumpy but lovable men, Bill Nighy has it nailed. He plays Simon Pegg’s grumpy zombie step-dad in Shaun of the Dead with lovable charm, and washed-up grumpy rockstar Billy Mack in Love Actually, for which he won a Bafta for best supporting actor. In 2006, he won a Golden Globe for TV movie Gideon’s Daughter where he plays an, um, grumpy publicist on the verge of a nervous breakdown. In 2022, he was nominated for an Oscar for Living in which he plays an, erm, grumpy 1950s bureaucrat. He plays a grumpy vampire elder in the Underworld series and, less grumpy because he’s near immortal, Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean. He’s fairly grumpy also...

British actress Emily Blunt has revealed that her ‘Oppenheimer’ director Christopher Nolan loves to “gossip”. The actress, who essayed the role of Kitty Oppenheimer — the wife of the American physicist, J. Robert Oppenheimer — in the Oscar-nominated biopic, has shared that the 53-year-old filmmaker is nothing like what people would expect and is “so understated as a person,” reports ‘Female First UK’.
Speaking with Australia’s Who magazine, Emily said: “Someone calls and says he wants to meet, at which point you put a jetpack on, and you go, you run. His ideas are so vast, and they transcend your normal understanding of things. Maybe that’s what pins everyone to their seats, that sense of wonder he elicits in people. And yet he’s so understated as a person.”
The actress further mentioned, quoted by ‘Female First UK’: “He doesn’t walk around like this walking brain; he watches ‘Love Actually’ every year.

Did you forget that there's a reboot of the parody franchise "The Naked Gun" in the works at Paramount Pictures? Not only is the project still happening, but Paramount Pictures has announced an official release date for the comedy revamp: July 15, 2025. That means cameras should be rolling this year if they haven't already started production without us knowing.
"The Naked Gun" followed Leslie Nielsen as bumbling Los Angeles detective Frank Drebin as he encountered various plots of crime and intrigue, often getting into outlandish, slapstick situations. Based on the short-lived spoof series "The Police Squad!" that aired on ABC in 1982, the film series was infinitely more successful, resulting in two sequels that became solid box office hits. With all the nostalgia there is for rebooting previously successful titles, it was only a matter of time before Paramount circled back around to "The Naked Gun."

[This story contains major spoilers from The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live series premiere.]
There are a few iconic moments every Walking Dead fan knows right off the top of their head. Like the fall of the prison or Negan’s arrival via a bloody baseball bat. But those who only watch the AMC TV series, the ones who never read the comic books from Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard, missed out on one of the biggest milestones from the comics: Rick Grimes losing his hand, cleaved off during his first meeting with The Governor.
These days, in the live-action version of the Walking Dead universe, the Governor is long gone. Now, finally, so is Rick’s hand.

It’s February 2024, and we’ve got another The Walking Dead spinoff series, which, by now, has become the norm. But this one, titled The Ones Who Live, is special because it has the Goat The Walking Dead character at the center of it. Whether you’ve ever watched, played, or read The Walking Dead or not, if you’re into pop culture, then you’ve certainly heard of this one guy: Rick Grimes. Clearly the biggest name about the whole franchise, the character has already been immortalized on screen by British actor Andrew Lincoln—yes, the same guy from the once iconic Love Actually.
One of the biggest issues of the franchise in the later years was the fatigue of the audience, which was further felt when Lincoln left the mother show. Many stopped following it, including Lincoln himself, who has admitted that he didn’t keep up with Twd after his characters’ exit.

Annette Bening still likes to swim, despite the brutal eight hours a day she spent in the water for her Netflix film Nyad. Bening stars as Diana Nyad, who, at 64, became the first person ever to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage. Bening trained for a year to perfect her stroke, and got to know Nyad herself, with Jodie Foster alongside her, starring as Nyad’s real-life friend and coach, Bonnie Stoll. “I swim all the time, it’s become part of my staying sane,” Bening says now, adding that she learned from Nyad that pushing oneself beyond what you thought you could do is “a way to know yourself, and that’s a way to expand your own idea about yourself in the world, and also increase your joy, and increase your appreciation.” Here, Bening looks back over some favorite moments in her career, from The Grifters,...

Actress Keira Knightley gained significant popularity in the 2000s and it’s hard to not talk about 2003’s Love Actually when we talk about her success. While the movie was very important for the actress’ career, Knightley has one regret: wearing a hat in a scene in the movie. It may have looked out of place but there was a particular reason why she wore it.

Knightley once revealed that she wore the hat in order to hide acne. It was natural for her as she was just a teenager back then, but she preferred the hat instead of makeup to cover the pimple. Love Actually made Knightley a household name and created bigger opportunities for the star.

There’s something uniquely cinematic about romantic comedies — something that makes them a natural fit for the movies and vice-versa. There’s an intoxicating alchemy that allows us to believe in the magic of meet-cutes, happily-ever-afters, and all the agonizing contrivances that tend to pop up between the two. Love it seems gives storytellers permission to transpose the stuff of operas and fables into the fabric of real (or at least overly glossed but still recognizable) life.
On paper, a film like “Pretty Woman” might be a retrograde fairy tale about a sex worker with a heart of gold and the rich businessman who can afford it, but the chemistry between Julia Roberts and Richard Gere is so explosive that you surrender to the sentiment of it all. Literally nothing in Richard Curtis’ “Love Actually” makes sense if you stop and think about it for even a few seconds. The...

Matthews, director of drama “X+Y” starring Asa Butterfield and Sally Hawkins as well as documentary “Williams,” is set to direct from a script by Malcolm Campbell, based on the novel “Charlie and Me” by Mark Lowery.

“Love Actually” sucks indeed, both as that horrendous film directed by Richard Curtis from 2003, and as a real life experience that barely any of us was spared of. In the case of Scud's drama from 2011, there is also a third, literal interpretation of the title that is very nicely explained in a wedding video screened right at the beginning of the film. The wedding celebration that goes terribly wrong is a place where all film's protagonists who will later on indulge in different types of relationships, are gathered. We recognize their faces one by one as the story unfolds.
