Hollywood actress Rachel McAdams says she is “absolutely terrified” to make her Broadway debut but is hopeful that she will get to do more shows in the future.
The ‘Mean Girls’ star, 45, is now set to take on the title role in the new play ‘Mary Jane’ and said that she found the prospect of taking to ‘The Great White Way’ to be “intimidating” to begin with.
“(I’m) terrified, absolutely terrified. I was intimidated to take it on, so there was always something hold me back a little bit,” she said while speaking on ‘The Broadway Show with Tamsen Fadal’.
In the play, McAadams, who has worked in iconic films such as ‘The Notebook’, ‘The Hot Chick’ and ‘About Time’, among many others, plays a singer mother with an ailing son living in Jackson Heights and is hopeful that she will get to star in another Broadway show at some point in her career.

"I read this script and thought, 'This is the best script I've read in God knows how long.'" That's what director Mark Waters told Entertainment Weekly in 2014 about his reaction to reading Tina Fey's script for "Mean Girls." At the time, it was called "Homeschooled" but the title didn't matter. What mattered was what was on the page. Those words on those pages would inspire one of the most successful movies about the high school experience ever made.

Back in the halcyon days of the early 2010s, Rob Schneider was perhaps best known for being a Saturday Night Live alum, one of Adam Sandler’s BFFs, and the star of the (underrated) The Hot Chick and the (completely fairly rated) Deuce Bigalow franchise. Today, however, he’s probably best known for being red-pilled as fuck.

With its list of new releases for June 2023, Prime is bringing a handful of Amazon Originals and many recent movie hits to the fold.
It’s actually quite a busy month for non-American programming in Amazon Originals department. Shows and movies like Deadloch, My Fault, and Medellín all originate from outside the U.S. and U.K. For the American and British crowd, however, the streamer is debuting two big tentpoles.
The first is I’m a Virgo on June 23. Acclaimed director Boots Riley’s TV followup to Sorry to Bother You will tale the surreal and satirical tale of a giant in Oakland. That will be followed by the more conventional (assumedly) fourth season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on June 30.
The real fireworks this month come from a ludicrously deep bench of library TV and movie titles. Give them a look for yourself below but if we were to highlight just a few,...

The fourth and final season of “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” arrives on Prime Video on June 30. It finds Ryan — now the new acting CIA director — unearthing internal corruption and suspicious black ops that leaves the United States vulnerable to attack. John Krasinski stars as the tough-as-nails Ryan.

“Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets” is a new docuseries that reveals the truth behind the myth of the wholesome religious family and their involvement with the predatory Bill Gothard and The Institute in Basic Life Principles. The Duggars and their 19 “happy” kids are exposed as frauds, while also being manipulated by Gothard and enduring the scandal of Josh, their sexually abusive son.

A glamorous woman swaps bodies with another glamorous woman – Max Barbakow’s new bodyswap film looks set to subvert a genre built on polar opposites
The bodyswap genre has long existed on a simple premise: what if two people with entirely opposite worldviews got to experience life through each others’ eyes. Classics of the genre have involved Freaky Friday (a child switches bodies with an adult), 18 Again! (where a teenager switches bodies with an 81-year-old coma patient), Like Father Like Son (where a child switches bodies with a surgeon) and The Hot Chick (an attractive person switches bodies with Rob Schneider).
But you ain’t seen nothing yet, because Hollywood has now devised a bodyswap movie that makes all these films look like practice runs. It has used advanced scientific and mathematical formulas in order to locate the two actors currently working on planet Earth who are total opposites in every conceivable way,...

The new year is upon us and Amazon Prime Video is kicking things off in grand fashion. Not only are they debuting the third season of their Tom Clancy adaptation “Jack Ryan,” they’re also debuting the final season of the ambitious, Al Pacino-starring actioner “Hunters.”
Initially debuting to the service in February of 2020, right as the pandemic started, the series’ first season follows a ragtag group of Nazi hunters in 1977 New York City. The so-called Hunters discover that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living in the United States and are conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in America. The Nazi hunters, led by Pacino, will embark on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their genocidal plans. The series concluded in 2020 and has taken some time to get back to screens. Unfortunately, this second season will be a finale as well so fans...

With its list of new releases for October 2022, Amazon Prime Video isn’t fully aboard the spooky season train but it is at least spooky adjacent.
The biggest release this month is Prime Video original series The Peripheral on Oct. 21. While not outright horror, it does sound more than a little unnerving. Based on a 2014 sci-fi novel by William Gibson, The Peripheral stars Chloë Grace Moretz as a woman in a near-future society who may have just discovered an alternate reality. Fittingly, Westworld‘s Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy serve as executive producers.
The other TV series of note in October is The Devil’s Hour on Oct. 28. This British thriller comes form Steven Moffat and tells the story of a woman who wakes up at 3:33 a.m. (the devil’s hour) each night to receive a disturbing vision.
October is home to a couple of Amazon movies of note as well.

After dropping the epic “Lord of the Rings” television series on Prime Video last month, it’s no surprise the streaming giant is taking it easy this October. They still have plenty of new shows and movies coming out, though none quite on the scale of their journey to Middle Earth.
That being said, they’re transitioning from the world of fantasy to science fiction with their new series “The Peripheral.” Touted as being from the creators of HBO’s “Westworld,” Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the time-traveling series is based on author William Gibson’s bestselling sci-fi novel.
Per an official synopsis: “The Peripheral” centers on Flynne Fisher (Moretz), a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her broken family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow’s America. Flynne is smart, ambitious, and doomed. She has no future; until the future comes calling for her. “The Peripheral” is...

Video Version of this Article Photo: Rachel McAdams/FeatureFlash Photo Agency/Shutterstock An Academic’s Path to Stardom Maybe you know her as the memorable, magnetic brat in comedies like ‘The Hot Chick’ or ‘Mean Girls’, or as the dimpled romantic lead of rom-coms like ‘The Notebook’, ‘About Time’, and ‘The Vow’, but regardless, you are bound to recognize Rachel McAdams. Known for romantic dramas, McAdams has cemented her position in the American mind as the ideal feminine romantic counterpart, or the ultimate queen bee, and has actually created the perfect avenue for memorable characters within a diverse filmography. But before then, she was born in Ontario, Canada in 1978, McAdams isn’t one of those stars that grew up busking on the streets of L.A. or being groomed for greatness by their entertainment industry employee parents. She attended a regular school, taking an interest in various activities like figure skating,...

If you’re looking for new movies and TV shows to watch on Amazon Prime Video in April, you’ve come to the right place. This month doesn’t bring a ton in terms of new Prime Video originals, but there are a few noteworthy titles. “Outer Range,” premiering April 15, is a new series that’s essentially “Yellowstone” but sci-fi. Josh Brolin plays a rancher fighting for his land in Wyoming who encounters a supernatural twist.
There’s also “A Very British Scandal,” which stars Claire Foy and Paul Bettany and focuses on the divorce of the Duke and Dutchess of Argyll, and the second season of the animated series “Undone” on April 29.
In terms of Prime Video movies, Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton star in the thriller ”All the Old Knives” which is streaming on April 8, and noteworthy library titles being added in April include “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,...

Good news for all you Brolin-heads! Amazon Prime Video’s list of new releases for April 2022 is highlighted by one very intriguing TV project starring Thanos himself.
The Josh Brolin-starring Outer Range premieres April 15 and looks like it could be a wild ride. The synopsis is terse and reads “A rancher fighting for his land and family stumbles upon an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness, forcing a confrontation with the Unknown in ways both intimate and cosmic in the untamable American West.” That, combined with an enigmatic first trailer, has our interest piqued.
Also on the TV side of things this month is season 2 of the beautifully rotoscoped series Undone on April 29. Rosa Salazar returns as Alma, a woman who may have become unstuck in time to help save her scientist father’s life. Before that, the British TV series The Outlaws makes its debut...

“The Masked Singer” season 6 continues the twist of the Wildcards that was introduced last season. Six celebrities who aren’t part of the original line-up of 10 stars who comprised Group A and Group B get to jump into the competition after it has started. The first of these, the Hamster, appeared in night two of the super-sized premiere, which aired on Fox on September 23. He returned to compete again on episode 4 on October 6 and was back in the Group A final on October 20.
The Hamster replaced the Octopus, who was bounced from the competition at the end of episode 1 on September 22. When he pulled off his mask, we saw that this eight-legged creature was eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard. We had figured out who was hiding in that costume before he sang a note and think we’ve done the same with the Hamster. Keep reading for all “The Masked Singer” spoilers,...

While the other streaming services set up recurring franchises, Hulu has opted to get a bit more experimental with its original offerings in August 2021.
Hulu’s list of new releases this month is highlighted by three original series concepts with promise. Reservation Dogs premieres on August 9. Co-created by Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), this story will follow four indigenous teenagers in Oklahoma as they stave off boredom and adulthood. Next up is Nine Perfect Strangers on August 18. This miniseries, based on a book of the same name, is produced by David E. Kelley and features staggering cast of Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Samara Weaving, and more.
Only Murders in the Building is likely the biggest thing to look forward to in August though. Premiering on August 31, this comedy stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as three true crime-obsessed friends who stumble into a true crime of their own.

Fresh off her historic Daytime Emmy win, actress Jodi Long is running for president of SAG-AFTRA’s Los Angeles Local to succeed Patricia Richardson, who is not seeking re-election. Long, a longtime national and L.A. Two years ago, Long ran for national secretary-treasurer as presidential candidate Matthew Modine’s running mate, but they lost to Gabrielle Carteris and her running mate, Camryn Manheim, who are not seeking re-election. This time, Modine and running mate Joely Fisher are squaring off against Fran Drescher and Anthony Rapp to succeed Carteris and Manheim.

Adam Sandler might be Netflix’s biggest drawing card, with his star vehicles always guaranteed to pull in huge numbers and crack the Top 10 most-watched list whether they’re brand new or two decades old, but the streaming service signed a deal with Happy Madison Productions and not the actor himself, meaning Sandler also gets to put his producing hat on and give some of his buddies their share of the spotlight.
This is hardly a new development, though, and ever since Happy Madison was founded in 1999, the company has churned out a series of movies featuring the Big Daddy star’s regular troupe of frequent collaborators. That includes the Paul Blart duology and Here Comes the Boom with Kevin James, Rob Schneider’s Deuce Bigalow, The Animal and The Hot Chick, and, of course, one of the worst comedies in the history of cinema, otherwise known as Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.

May isn’t quite summer yet but it is usually time that the networks start wrapping up their newest shows and preparing for a relatively fallow summer period. Since HBO isn’t a network, it has no such business model. But May sees the winding down of some HBO blockbusters all the same.
While there are some notable new releases for HBO in May 2020, the bigger story might be the things that are ending. Westworld concludes its third season on May 3 while new series Run wraps up on May 24. Thankfully the film losses in May aren’t too bad for HBO, unless the Agent Cody Banks saga drives a lot of traffic.
The most notable TV premiere in May is I Know This Much is True, a book adaptation starring Mark Ruffalo. This is a very bleak story coming along at a bleak time in history but perhaps those two things will cancel out.

Press materials for new indie comedy “Lazy Susan” stress “The character of Susan is a cisgender woman,” apparently for fear that viewers might otherwise assume star Sean Hayes is playing a transgender person. The fact that he’s not underlines this movie’s very fragile raison d’être: It’s supposed to be funny simply that a man in a dress and wig is portraying a “real” woman. Can that be funny? Well, sure. But is that alone, minus much else very special in the realms of performance or story or concept, funny enough to float a 90-minute movie all by itself?
Apparently not. “Lazy Susan” aims hazily between the sad-sack valentine likes of “Muriel’s Wedding” and something more satirically misanthropic, missing a target it never quite commits to in the first place. Starring “Will & Grace’s” Hayes as the title character, a suburban Wisconsin wallflower who makes herself...
