Shah Rukh Khan in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa(Photo Credit –Instagram/IMDb)
Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa is one of the best coming-of-age Hindi movies. Released in 1994, the Kundan Shah directorial stars Shah Rukh Khan, Suchtria Krishnamurthy and Deepak Tijori. As years passed, the love for Khkn grew, especially for Srk’s character, Sunil. A lot of people felt connected with Sunil’s story. After all, he wasn’t like most Bollywood heroes. Sunil would rarely get anything he wanted. After all, that’s life. You don’t always get what you want.
It has been 30 years since Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa was released, and movie lovers can’t get enough of it. Everything about Kundan Shah’s movie is incredible, from the story to the performances to the music. In fact, Srk once called Khkn his favourite movie. Rituraj Singh, who passed away at the age of 59 in the wee hours of Tuesday, was a member of Tag, the same Delhi theatre group as Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. The two used to rehearse together and play football. And they acted together in Shah Rukh Khan’s debut film ‘In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones’.
Aired in 1989, it was made for Doordarshan by filmmaker-environmentalist Pradip Kishen based on Booker Prize-winning novelist Arundhati Roy’s script drawing heavily on her days as a student at Delhi’s School of Planning and Architecture.
Those days, Srk, despite being well-known for his pivotal role in the TV serial ‘Fauji’, was nowhere near being the super star that he was to become, so the role that he was so keen to essay went to Rituraj.

Ramayan, Circus, and Mahabharat have made a comeback on screen, and we are loving it. Here are the other shows which these TV actors wish would come back.
Amrita Prakash:?I think we had some beautiful shows on television in the 90s. There are some wonderful shows that I have grown up watching and performing in, which influenced me as a performer and a person.
I feel blessed to have been part of television during its golden age, in the late 90s and early 2000s- with shows like 'Rishtey' and 'star bestsellers' - which were completely story-centric. As opposed to the Trp-centric storyline we have today, back then every story was spun and told so beautifully, with performances that moved the soul. How I wish we would only bring back these shows to re watch but also to remake. I miss being a part of that wondrous era in Indian television.

Shah?Rukh?Khan?is turning 54 this year. Here is what the TV fraternity has to say about this superstar.
Ankit Bathla
For me, Kuch Kuch Hota hai still holds a great impression. I really like that film and I can watch over and over again. So definitely that's my favourite Srk film. Srk is very successful today because he is really intelligent. He is also a businessman more than just being an actor. He is a workaholic which I think drives everything because he does not say no to anything and he is always working day and night.

"I am ugly" -- this was Shah Rukh Khan's reaction when he saw himself on the screen for the first time, and decided to ditch his plan to get into acting. The superstar says he still has a "hard time" believing his rise to fame, and says he doesn't think of himself as a "star".
