The film was shot in 1983, but wasn't released in its native US until 1988. It was, however, first released in Australia in 1986, followed by UK and European release in 1987.
The film remained mostly obscure, until internet personality and filmmaker James Rolfe (famous for The Angry Video Game Nerd (2004)) reviewed it as part of his mock feud with Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic (2007)) in 2008. He criticised the film for its weak comedy, poor plot and nonsensical references.
The last film directed by William T. Naud.
