Apart from literate costume dramas, English cinema has rarely show rural characters or settings.
A hard farmer marries for land. But he has to contend with his volatile sister-in-law.
"This Filthy Earth" certainly lives up to its name - muddy characters, farmyard sex, ugly arguments, fights and beatings. Nobody in this movie speaks, they all shout at each other. Using an innovative video style the movie is certainly different. There's a lot of energy here, and that's how low-budget films should be.
If you're tired of most recent British gangster/horror/comedy pictures then check out "TFE". You may not like it (I did) but you'll certainly remember this movie.
