The ‘Baster’ actress is reportedly in negotiations to star opposite the ‘Happy Gilmore’ actor in romantic comedy ‘The Pretend Wife’ – formerly known as ‘Holiday In Hawaii’ - though plot details are being kept firmly under wraps.
Adam’s long-term collaborator Dennis Dugan is expected to direct the movie, which is scheduled for release in February 2011, while Happy Madison is producing.
Jennifer – who was married to Brad Pitt and dated a host of famous men, including John Mayer and Vince Vaughn – has previously admitted she wants to be more selective in her movie roles because the storylines seem to come true in her personal life.
She joked earlier this year: “I’m trying to be more careful than I have been in the past about the titles of movies that I choose to be in. It’s funny - I kind of noticed something a couple years ago that there seemed

The upcoming Michael Cera comedy Youth in Revolt has a new trailer and you should watch the original trailer to remain positive about the film. It has a good premise: Nick Twisp (Cera) is an 18-year old high school student who goes on a quest to lose his virginity to Sheeni (Portia Doubleday) by developing a “supplementary personality” named Francois who encourages Nick to break out of his timid nice-guy routine and be a bad ass who stands up for himself. Directed by Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl), the film co-stars Zach Galifianakis, Justin Long, Steve Buscemi, Jean Smart, and Ray Liotta.

Paramount Pictures has hired School of Rock screenwriter Mike White to script Santa Wars, a comedy based on the true story which appeared on This American Life in December 2008. The story, written by Joshuah Bearman, told of two rival factions that developed within a union of professional Santa Clauses, which resulted in a "Santa Claus civil war."
White is best when put in the dark comedy arena, and this might be a perfect fit. This story is definitely more akin to Bad Santa than Elf. White's previous credits include Dead Man on Campus, Chuck & Buck, Freaks and Geeks, and The Good Girl. More recently, he's had a turn in more family-friendly territory with School of Rock and Nacho Libre, before making his directorial debut Year of the Dog.

Zombieland took first place at the box office last weekend with its blend of comedy and zombie-killing action. While a zombie movie at #1 is still a surprise, what's more surprising is that Zombieland is the first movie Ruben Fleischer has ever directed. Creativity asked Fleischer how a first-time director, who wasn't much of a zombie fan, ended up directing a movie like Zombieland.

Ruben Fleischer's first film, Zombieland, is a hit, taking #1 in the box office in its opening weekend. Fleischer's background is in commercials and he admits he's not much of a zombie movie fan. Sohow the hell did he end up directing Zombieland? Creativity got the answer:

If your dream cast is Ed Helms and John C. Reilly, I'd probably advise you to dream a little bigger, but having said that, these two guys in an Alexander Payne comedy might be hard to stop. That's the case with Cedar Rapids, a Fox Searchlight road trip comedy produced by Payne and directed by Miguel Artera (The Good Girl).
Helms was the first name aboard, and the announcement came a couple weeks after The Hangover opened. He's playing a kind of cousin of that character, too, as a naive small town guy whose "mind is blown by the big-town experience" while attending a regional insurance conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Reilly is joining the ensemble piece as a "family man who sees the event as a vacation and a time to let loose." Reilly is one of the better serious comedic actors out there,

Ever since John C. Reilly made a huge splash into the comedy world with Talladega Nights, he's been one of my favorite comedic actors. However, there's a very clear divide between those who simply love his brand of humor and those who hate it. After all his humor is basically a brother of Will Ferrell's trademark humor, and this became very clear when they combined their off-the-wall antics in Step Brothers. THR reports that Reilly will be bringing the funny along with Ed Helms (NBC's "The Office") in Cedar Rapids, an ensemble road-trip comedy from Miguel Arteta, director of The Good Girl and the upcoming film Youth in Revolt.

John C. Reilly has joined the cast of Cedar Rapids, the comedy with Hangover star Ed Helms already set as the lead. Well, it makes a change for him to return to comedy after playing a vampire in the upcoming The Vampire's Apprentice: Cirque du Freak anyway.Helms will play a wholesome, somewhat naive smalltown type from Wisconsin (wait, is this sounding a bit similar to his breakout role as a dentist?) who is sent to his insurance company's regional conference after the death of his boss and mentor. The big conference, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, "blows his mind" and sets him on a whole new course. Reilly will play a fellow delegate who sees the conference as a vacation time to break loose from his usual family existence. Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl) is directing, with Alexander Payne among the producers. Phil Johnston wrote the script.

Mean-spirited screwball comedy Youth in Revolt , based on C.D. Payne's 1993 novel, follows Nick Twisp (Michael Cera), a cynical, sex-obsessed 16-year-old who, while on vacation in a trailer park, meets and falls in love with beautiful, intellectual teen rebel Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday). The only things standing in the way of the consummation of Nick's first love is Sheeni's poetry-writing ex-boyfriend Trent (Jonathan B. Wright) and her religious zealot parents (M. Emmett Walsh and Mary Kay Place) .
It barely needs to be said that Michael Cera has perfected his socially awkward, asexual, nerdy adolescent shtick. For some, it might be tiring to see the same actor in the same role once again trying to lose the same virginity, and Youth in Revolt is more of the same. As Nick, Cera doesn't do much to elevate the material to anything other than a typical coming-of-age story,

What is a romantic comedy, exactly? I’ll attempt to answer that briefly by explaining how I define a romantic comedy. Of course, there has to be romance and there has to be comedy, but more importantly the story needs to be primarily focused on the development of a romantic relationship. So, why do I bother to bring this up when it seems so obvious that Love Happens is a romantic comedy? Because it’s not.
So the film has romance and it has comedy, but the primary focus of the story is Not the romantic relationship between Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston, as the marketing of the film would have you believe. Love Happens is a much deeper story than the average rom-com, but for the sake of reviewing the film, we’ll just assume it fits nicely into my abnormally strict definition of what make a romantic comedy.

The Weinstein Company has pushed back Youth in Revolt, which recently premiered at Tiff to decent reviews, from October 30 to January 15, 2010. The comedy-drama was first announced in 2007 and has already been delayed twice.
Michael Cera, Portia Doubleday, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Long, Ari Graynor, Ray Liotta, Jean Smart, Rooney Mara and Steve Buscemi star in the film. It was directed by Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl, Chuck & Buck).
Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by C.D. Payne, the film revolves around the adventures of a teenager who meets the girl of his dreams while on a family vacation and turns his life upside down in order to be with her. Gustin Nash (Charlie Bartlett) penned the screenplay.
The consensus seems to be that the Weinstein’s will use the fall to focus on more Oscar-friendly films like Rob Marshall’s Nine, A Single Man and The Road.
