There are a lot of adjectives you can use to describe Mr. Robot, but "hopeful" isn't usually one of them. No matter how you slice it, this is a place where loved ones turn up dead, no one's to be trusted, and people eat pills out of their own puke to make the pain go away. But this week's hour-long episode, entitled "eps2.2_init1.asec," (because Mr. Robot, people) is about as bright and shiny as this show is ever likely to get. We even see a real smile out of Elliot — no Adderall involved.

They don't make game shows like they used to, do they?
In celebration of the BBC's history of game shows, archive episodes of Ask the Family, Big Break, What's My Line?, Animal, Vegetable, Mineral? and more have been made available to view on iPlayer.
Editions of Friends Like These, The Weakest Link, Bob's Full House, Call My Bluff and Quiz Ball are also available to watch.
The episodes are introduced by Richard Osman in a blog post, which also explains his love of the format.
He wrote: "I have always likened quizzes to sport for competitive people who are terrible at playing sport, myself included.
"I remember pitching The Million Pound Drop to the head of Channel 4, and he loved playing it so much he kept asking more and more colleagues into his office just so he could watch them play it too. That is exactly what makes a hit quiz show.

Friends Like These doesn't need much introduction. Sure, I could say that overcoming the common "roommates driving each other crazy" setup requires smooth production and slick writing, but aside from that, it's probably best to just let the new web series talk for itself. Friends Like These is helmed by a creator who goes by the name "J. Brooks". J emailed Tubefilter with the subject line "an indie show that might make you chuckle while you poop," and that just about sums up Friends Like These. The series follows four roommates--a porn director, his star actor, a med student, and a baker--through one zany scenario after another. The jokes are punchy as unrestrained. As you might have guessed from the scatological nature of J's subject line, the humor frequently focuses on areas below the waist (and I'm not talking about feet). Thus far, two episodes have been released: The best...

Double Fine Productions officially pulled back the curtain on their Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter project last week at Pax East, revealing to non-backers that the old school point-and-click adventure game will be titled Broken Age. This week at Gdc, the developer and “90,000 of their closet friends” publicly released the first teaser trailer for the crowdfunded project, giving the rest of the world its first look at the upcoming game.
Broken Age‘s plot tells the stories of a young boy and girl who are “leading parallel lives” in two very different settings. The boy is confined to a “solitary life” on a spaceship, with only a “motherly computer” to keep him company. His one desire in life is to “break free to lead adventures and do good in the world”. On the other hand, the young girl is far from lonely, as she is being raised by her family in a small village.

How do you deal with the person who shot you? As we learned on "Hot Property," if your name is Michael Weston, you suck it up and move on.
Elsewhere, I love Madeline. As I mentioned earlier this year, she reminds me so much of my own mom that I find myself calling home within 12 hours of watching an episode.
This week, Madeline did such a great job of boiling Michael and Jesse’s issue down to its essence of a family fight. I'm sure my brother and I got the same lecture she gave them when we were growing up and got into brawls.
You have to love her straightforward take of “I am not talking about closure, just moving on with it.” You can agree or disagree with her methods, but seeing Michael and Jesse smiling at each other at the end of the episode made it all worthwhile.

At the end of Season 3, Michael was arrested after saving Management from Simon. After twenty minutes in FBI custody, he was moved to a private holding facility, part of which looked like a very comfortable library. The Season 4 premiere picks up from there. A man named Vaughn (Robert Wisdom) enters the room. By [...]

Mark June 1st, 2010 on your calendar as the day you can get more of the awesomeness that is Burn Notice on Home Video. On that day, Fox Home Entertainment is releasing the third season of the USA show on DVD. But, and this is a big but, there's no word yet on a Blu-ray release. Fans of the show can get the second season on Blu-ray (but not the first season) and the lack of information on Blu-ray release is pretty obvious in Fox's announcement. If it was indeed a deliberate choice to not release a DVD, you'd have to imagine that the hi-def release didn't make economic sense. Season 3 comes with the following episodes and some really great guest stars (Carlos Bernard, Tyne Daly and Moon Bloodgood). 1. Friends and Family 2. Question & Answer 3. End Run 4. Fearless Leader 5. Signals and Codes 6. The Hunter 7. Shot in the Dark 8. Friends Like These 9. ...

We hop right into the action this week. Michael prepares for a mission. “An operation is more likely to be saved by a fresh set of batteries than a gun.” Fiona packs the batteries in a camera while Michael loads his gun. Apparently they’re hedging their bets on the batteries. Fiona answers the door to find Strickler, “Michael’s Ticket Back In.” Fiona tries to convince Michael not to go with him, to no avail.
Strickler and Michael park our awesome car of the week: a slick Aston-Martin. Strickler promises Michael with “his word” if Michael completes this job, his burn notice will be lifted. Then we’d have to change the name of this show to “Sam Axe Is Awesome.” I’m cool with that. They are currently parked across from a safe house for an American intelligence agency. There appears to be a robbery in progress, which they will not be stopping.
