- Continuity: West's rank devices change from a specialist's during his welcome speech to the trainees, to a Master Sergeant's before the mission.
- Revealing mistakes: When Osborne is driving the Hummer during the rain, she moves her hands as though to take a bend, but the steering wheel stays in the same position.
- Audio/visual unsynchronized: When the doctor is in the jail cell waiting for transport, his lips do not match the words he's singing ("nobody ever had to scratch my back").
- Continuity: Osborne is following Hardy in her Hummer while it's pouring rain. When she follows him on foot, it's perfectly dry and there is a full carnival in process.
- Continuity: Just before Hardy and Osborne get out of the car to go and see Kendall in Hospital, Hardy removes his jacket and throws in to the back on the car. Once inside the hospital, Hardy has his Jacket on again.
- Audio/visual unsynchronized: When they are chasing the plane in the rain, the Humvee makes the sound of a gas engine. This particular truck has a turbo diesel engine.
- Continuity: At the beginning of the movie they are flying in an American Eurocopter EC120. When they show a close-up they are in an American Eurocopter AS350 "A-Star".
- Audio/visual unsynchronized: Just after the introduction of Hardy and Osborne, as Hardy is walking towards the door saying, "That's one way to put it," his lips are not moving.
- Factual errors: There are no women in the 75th Ranger Regiment.
- Factual errors: Ranger Training is conducted by the Ranger Training Brigade, who wear the Fort Benning TRADOC "Follow Me" patch. Sgt. West, their trainer, was wearing a patch from the 193rd Infantry Brigade.
- Factual errors: Ranger jungle training is conducted at Eglin Air Force base in Florida, not at Ft. Clayton Panama. The Army Jungle school was located at Ft. Sherman, on the opposite side of Panama.
- Factual errors: The movie claims that the Provost Marshal is "the closest thing we have to an investigator". Not only was there a Criminal Investigation Divison field office in Panama at the time the movie was set in, the Provost Marshals office has it's own Military Police Investigations office.
- Revealing mistakes: Right before Kendall talks about being the victim of a hate-crime during his narration, strobes that generate the lightning flashes can be seen firing above in the trees as Castro is shooting at targets.
- Continuity: In the scene where Pike is climbing the cliff and Sgt West is challenging him to use his brain, there's a moderate, steady rain shower. When Sgt West throws his pack down the cliff, there's no rain as his pack is shown falling.
- Revealing mistakes: Osborne is driving with Hardy in her Hummer on their way to see Kendall, as she does the dialogue you can tell the Hummer is on a trailer because as she turns the wheel the steering wheel doesn't move
- Continuity: Before following Hardy in her Hummer, Osborne is shown in the driver's seat wearing a jacket, which has disappeared once she sets the vehicle in motion.
- Continuity: Right after Kendall'S death, Osborne shows Hardy the eight on her palm. When her hand is in horizontal position, the eight is half gone. When she shows him, the eight is clear.
- Revealing mistakes: In the scene where the soldiers are shooting at West on the roof of the shack, a squib can be seen going off late after the sound of the shooting has stopped.
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Dunbar's note during the opening sequence has "-body" misspelled twice as "-boy".
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Osborne opens Dunbar's note to read it, and then misreads "somebody" as "someone" and "anybody" as "anyone".
- Factual errors: Dunbar tells West that the muzzle velocity of his M16A2 is 700 meters per second. The actual muzzle velocity of that weapon is 975 meters per second.
- Revealing mistakes: West is wearing Specialist rank on his collar at random points of the film while he is supposed to be a Master Sergent.
- Revealing mistakes: Late into the movie, during the storm at the hut. There was rifle fire through the tin roof. The bullet holes were the size of quarters when the rifles calibers is .223 or 5.56 Nato which is barely larger than a .22.

- Plot holes: SPOILER: At the end, we discover that West told Styles about the drugs, and then realized Styles was part of the plot, due to his lack of action. We also learn that West told Hardy about Styles. But when Osborne asks Hardy if he knew about Styles (at a point when he's telling her the truth and is about to bring her into his group), he says he DIDN'T know about Styles.
