The next-to-last episode of "Justified" seemed to wrap up the big story points of Season 4 -- Drew Thompson got his deal, Ellen May was safe, Raylan was about to start serving his suspension.
And then Winona got a rocking chair for the baby's room delivered by Nicky Augustine's man Picker, closing out "Peace of Mind" on a chilling note.
Nicky's (Mike O'Malley) decision to go after Raylan's (Timothy Olyphant) ex and the mother of his child is a big driver of the action in Tuesday's (April 2) season finale, "Ghosts." It's the last loose end for both Raylan and the Detroit crew in the wake of the Thompson case, and it brings a lot of the issues Raylan has dealt with over the course of the season to a head?
It's tough to say just how that happens without venturing too deep into spoiler territory. One thing that's clear, though, is...

Season 4 of Justified wraps up tonight (FX, 10 p.m. Et) with another tense hour. Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) and Boyd (Walton Goggins) make their final plays to keep pregnant Winona (Natalie Zea) safe from Nicky Augustine (Mike O’Malley), and prevent Ava (Joelle Carter) from going to jail for Delroy’s murder. “I think she really feels responsibility for this situation because she’s the one who pulled the trigger and then didn’t potentially get rid of the body in the right way,” Carter says of Ava’s mindset. “She’s had help from other people, and it’s come...

Earlier today during their upfront presentation, FX executives announced that the hit Tuesday night drama, Justified, has been renewed for a fifth season.
Justified is centered around the impulsive U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant). Givens lands in the Lexington, Kentucky field office after killing a man under questionable circumstances that he was chasing in Miami. The transfer was supposed to help keep him out of trouble, but instead takes him right into the thick of it.
The show is currently wrapping up its fourth season with its highest rated run yet. Currently, fans are at the edge of their seats after episode 4-12 (March 26th), Peace of Mind, ended with a major cliffhanger. For me personally, I can’t wait to catch the Justified season finale when it airs next Thursday, April 2nd, on FX at 10 p.m. Est.

Justified, Season 4, Episode 12: “Peace of Mind”
Written by Taylor Elmore and Leonard Chang
Directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Et on FX
Boyd Crowder is not a good person. Yes, he’s capable of deep, abiding love, as demonstrated by his many earnest scenes of devotion with Ava. Yes, he’s remarkably witty, to the point of citing his own words as timeless folk wisdom without a trace of irony. But let’s not forget that this is the same man who spent the Justified pilot as an apparently earnest white supremacist with a penchant for blowing up churches with rocket launchers. (Admittedly, he only did it once, but in this case we can probably accept a single instance as a “penchant.”) The difficulty of playing Boyd Crowder is that he’s undergone more dramatic transformations than anyone else in the world of Justified - at the end of the day,...

Spoiler alert! Before you read our exclusive interview with Joelle Carter, Justified’s Ava Crowder, make sure you’ve watched this week’s episode, “Peace of Mind,” written by Taylor Elmore and Leonard Chang and directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton. With Drew Thompson now in custody, the mad scramble continues as Ellen May (Abby Miller) is on the run with Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) Nicky Augustine (Mike O’Malley) and Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) giving chase. Carter spoke with us about “Peace of Mind” as well as many memorable scenes throughout the season.
BuzzFocus: Let’s jump right in and talk about last night’s episode, “Peace of Mind,” an outstanding episode for Ava Crowder, who returned to the Noble’s Holler with $500,000 of Theo Tonin’s money to get Ellen May and it ends up in another friendship destruction for Ava.

While Justified never ceased being one of the best shows on television, it entered into a third season slump. After a near-perfect second season, featuring one of the greatest TV villains, Mags Bennett (Margo Martindale), it couldn’t help but underwhelm in its junior year, replacing her with a slew of uninteresting baddies. Season four, however, is proof positive that a show can redeem itself. It has remained Harlan-centric villain-wise, with the exception of Mike O’Malley’s Detroit mobster Nicky Augustine, who is a vast improvement over who he replaced, Adam Arkin. No offense, Arkin… but O’Malley is killing it. Villains aside, the reasons why Justified continues to triumph this season is because of the consistently amazing writing and direction. The dialogue is nearly poetry, with Boyd turning phrases that sound as if they come out of Shakespeare’s notebook – Nicky even tells him this week, “I’m going to need Google Translate on my...

After the thrilling events of last week's "Decoy," Justified took its foot off the pedal just a bit to showcase the more subtle brilliance of this show in what has turned out to be another fantastic season.
Six weeks ago I posited that Colton's entire arc might have been out of place.
"Peace of Mind," and the past few episodes overall, proved me wrong.
The way that his path kept crossing with Deputy Marshal Tim Gutterson's not only gave Colt a rightful place in this season's story, but it helped evolve Tim into something more than a rarely-there sidekick.
Sure there were the comedic moments - like last week's conversation about Lt. Dan and Gerard Depardieu - but when Tim came into that former snake-filled church, their interactions became some of the most intense and complex that you will see on television.
They have things in common, and that's why...

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t watched this week’s episode of Justified, “Peace of Mind” written by Taylor Elmore and Leonard Chang and directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton, stop reading now. Season 4′s penultimate episode was a hunt for Ellen May (Abby Miller), and though Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) won, Nicky Augustine (Mike O’Malley) has one final play — and it involves Winona (Natalie Zea). As he’ll do throughout the season, showrunner Graham Yost takes us inside the writers’ room.

A review of tonight's "Justified" coming up just as soon as we are literally searching every dog house, hen house and outhouse... It was going to be virtually impossible for "Justified" to top, or even equal, the enormous barrel of fun that was "Decoy," which featured every aspect of the show, and every character, operating at peak value. But if "Peace of Mind" couldn't hit that level, it did a fine job of moving the story forward, and wisely went for a different tone. "Decoy" was all smiles and joy (even when Constable Bob was being beaten half to death); "Peace...

After last week's incredible episode -- one of the series' best, I think -- it's tough to follow-up with an episode as gripping and entertaining. Last week felt like a season finale, whereas this episode, entitled "Peace of Mind," feels like an epilogue at times. But it does contain quite the twist -- a sharp jog to the side which hints at a very, very dark set-up for a later episode.
"Peace of Mind" opens with Raylan happier than we've ever seen him. Winona shares with him that their child is going to be a girl, and even though Raylan says he doesn't "know sh*t about girls," he seems genuinely cheerful as he enters the marshal's office to rapturous applause.

Justified Season 4 has centered on Raylan's quest for a promotion, the hunt for Drew Thompson and, as Joelle Carter explained in our exclusive interview yesterday, a trio of unusual love stories.
"There's been Colt and Boyd, Raylan and Constable Bob and Ava and Ellen May," the actress said, turning her focus to the latter pairing and how it has impacted her character on this terrific FX drama.
"Ava stood up for Ellen May because she related to that kind of abuse. That's how she justified killing Delroy… and then she took Ellen May under her wing and wanted so desperately to believe that she could just trust her to keep it secret."
So… can she?
Ellen May hasn't said a word about the incident yet. But previews for tonight's "Peace of Mind" make it look like a possibly fatal confrontation is on the way. If Ava can pull the trigger,...

During The Voice's live play-offs on Monday night, the members of Team Blake and Team Adam all stepped up their game with impressive solo performances – but it will be up to fans to vote for who should advance.
Monday's show kicked off with a group performance of Boston's "Peace of Mind" before the 10 individuals took the stage. And coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton couldn't be more proud of their teams.
Team Adam's Joselyn Rivera sang Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart a Break" that left Levine overjoyed. "I knew I wanted you on my team," he said afterward.

It's time for "The Voice" Season 3 contestants to "do it live," as Bill O'Reilly might say, and viewers will find out who's up for the challenge.
For the first night of live performances, Adam Levine says the judges are "looking to be blown away," as always, and we'll see his Top 5 and Blake Shelton's Top 5 perform before the audience takes control. Three artists will move on from each team, thanks to audience votes, and the coadges will each save one more contestant on Thursday night's results show.
Cee Lo is dressed for the occasion, donning a Seinfeld-dreaded puffy shirt and A.C. Slater's overgrown jheri curl hair.
First up is a group performance with both Team Blake and Team Adam taking on Boston's "Peace of Mind," clad in black and gold. Then, it's onto the individuals. First up is ...

The first live show of the season sees Adam and Blake Shelton's teams fight for their place in the Top 12! Were you entertained? Tonight begins the live playoffs of The Voice, which will whittle our Top 20 down to a leaner Top 12. As host Carson Daly explains, viewers will save two from each team, while the coach will be allowed to save one. On tonight's show, Team Blake Shelton and Team Adam Levine competed to earn their place in the Top 12. (Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green's teams will compete this Wednesday.) Blake calls his team perfection, while Adam is excited to share his team with the other coaches. Before the night truly begins, Team Adam and Team Blake perform Boston's "Peace of Mind" together, during which someone hits a really bum high note at the end. I wasn't the only one who noticed that, right? Joselyn Rivera The cutie...

British belter's smash album catches up to 1997 blockbuster album with its 16th non-consecutive week atop the Billboard chart.

Adele
Move over, James Cameron (and Celine Dion): Adele just landed her Sweet 16th.
Yes, once again the British belter's 21 album tops the Billboard 200 chart, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, marking the 16th (non-consecutive) week it sits at #1. The mark ties it with the soundtrack to the 1997 blockbuster "Titanic," which was buoyed by Dion's massive "My Heart Will Go On."
Up next for Adele? Well, first, it's Billy Ray Cyrus' Some Gave All, which topped the Billboard charts for 17 weeks in 1992, followed by Garth Brooks' Ropin' the Wind, which was #1 for 18 weeks. Then, it's the 1992 soundtrack to "The Bodyguard," which, powered by Whitney Houston's takes on "I'm Every Woman" and "I Will Always Love You," spent 20 weeks atop the Billboard albums chart. Oh,...

Apologies for the lateness of this column, y'all. I had planned to write it on the second leg of my journey to SXSW but then my flight from Dallas to Austin was delayed. I was not totally sad about that because my flight from Miami to Dallas was Also delayed (but not until they'd loaded everyone onto the plane, obviously) and due to the efficiency of the Miami International Airport security screeners I barely made it onto that flight, so I arrived in Dallas about an hour and a half ago having eaten nothing all day. The flight delay gave me time to shove down a couple of overpriced tacos and I'm in a Far better mood that I would be otherwise. Marley was dead, but he’s certainly the Energizer Bunny of holiday fantasy.
