Damien Chazelle's "La La Land" made history at the 74th Annual Golden Globes winning all 7 nominations including Best Picture Musical/Comedy! The film won Best Actor (Ryan Gosling), Actress (Emma Stone), Director, Screenplay, Score, and Song! Previously, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was the record-holder for winning 6/6 and both "Doctor Zhivago" and "A Star is Born" 5 for 5.
A big congrats to Chazelle and "La La Land!"
The biggest upset for me? Natalie Portman's "Jackie" performance was overshadowed by Isabelle Huppert in "Elle." I thought Portman, wigs and make-up included, embodied the role of our former First Lady!
In the TV category, "The Night Manager" was the big winner taking home three awards (mostly for performance for Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Laurie), followed by "The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" and "The Crown" each with two.

Update: Jeff Goldblum has told Nerdist that he will lend his voice to the stop-motion animation as well as Bob Balaban, Edward Norton, and Bryan Cranston — playing a pack of dogs — and that it will be “Japanese-inspired,” although no further details beyond that were given. Check out the original story below.
Considering the fairly quick turnaround from Moonrise Kingdom to The Grand Budapest Hotel, one might have hoped a similar timetable was in store for Wes Anderson’s feature, but 18 months since the release of the latter, it’s clear that won’t be the case. The only hint of a potential new film arrived about a year ago when we learned he was considering a return to stop-motion animation for a multi-episode project that found inspiration in Vittorio De Sica‘s six-part, 1954 anthology picture The Gold of Naples.
We finally have an update and while his Grand Budapest follow-up will be stop-motion,...

There's always one day during the Sdcc when you just shake your head, laugh, and say, "This schedule is ridiculous." Saturday, July 20th, is shaping up to be that day this year.
Horror fans will have a lot of choices to make as the "Bates Motel" panel battles the one-two punch of Godzilla and Seventh Son. Later in the day you'll be faced with choosing to learn more about "True Blood," Telltale's The Walking Dead video game, or "Being Human." Right now 20th Century Fox's presentation that runs at the same time remains "To Be Announced," but once details are revealed, we'll provide an update.
Other panels vying for your attention throughout the day are "The Originals," "Grimm," I, Frankenstein teamed with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (that combination should make for some interesting audience reactions), a look at gameplay from Dead Rising 3 on the Xbox One, more games, comics,...

July 2012 is...huge. And it's not particularly because there's a lot of films releasing that month; actually, it probably has the least amount of films opening in the entire year of 2012. But July will be huge for two reasons, and two reasons alone; The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Dark Knight Rises. Both have had mounds of anticipation put upon them, and have been highly awaited by almost everyone. And in July, both will see the light of day. August is big, but only because it has a lot of releases; other than The Bourne Legacy and Total Recall, there's not a lot in terms of big budget genre affair. But even then, August has its positives. To find the scope of one of the biggest parts of the year, I suggest you hit the jump right now! Time for Part 4.
Fourth of the July is starting with a bang in 2012—you know,...

Rightly so, most of the conversation surrounding this weekend’s Bryan Cranston hosted episode of Saturday Night Live has revolved around Kanye West’s next level performances of “Power” and “Runaway.” Now that you’ve had enough time to digest those, we figured it was high time to start breaking down this week’s Saturday Night Live Power Rankings for you. After all, it was the first time that one of the newbies got an opportunity to play the lead in a sketch and, much to Lorne’s delight, it was totally F-Bomb free! So, please follow along and find out where Vanessa Bayer and the rest of her SNL brethren landed on this week’s Power Rankings. Saturday Night Live Power Rankings: 10/2/10 (Host: Bryan Cranston; Musical Guest: Kanye West) 1. Andy Samberg (49 points): Before this season began, there were tons of rumors swirling around Studio 8H that two-thirds of the Lonely Island trio –specifically,...

I love Bryan Cranston's Walt White, and since "Breaking Bad," premiered, it's always a little jarring to see Cranston with hair and grinning. It's really as though Walt White isn't even played by the same guy that was the father in "Malcolm in the Middle." It's two different people, and the Cranston who was in "Malcolm" showed up on "SNL" last night, and the writing team seriously let him down. It was a dreadful episode, spare on highlights. I could only make it through Weekend Update. It's sad when Kanye's performance -- complete with a goddamn harem -- was the highlight of the night. It was actually kind of amazing, and I couldn't give three rat's asses for Kanye.
Kenan Thompson came back with another "What's Up with That," segment, which grew stale halfway through the first time he did it, and again completely wastes the cameo of Morgan Freeman...
