The script for the film was originally written for Full Moon's Witchouse, but was turned down after Full Moon decided that they had wanted something more in the vein of Night of the Demons for that film.
The paper-dolls were originally meant to be rag dolls and the paper Imp was supposed to be a stitched-together ball of fur.

Actresses Debra Mayer and Kaycee Shank were roommates at the time. They were excited when they were cast together, but producer J.R. Bookwalter said they were a little freaked out when they found out they had a lesbian scene together. But he said they remained very professional about it.
