A deleted scene showed Tai and Kari's dad coming home late at night after the scene when Agumon grew huge destroying the top bunk of their bunk bed (segment 1 "Eight Years Ago").
The references to Willis were not in the original Japanese version, because "Our war game" was in continuity and "Hurricane Touchdown" was out of continuity, therefore in "Our War Game" Willis/Wallace did not exist.
