I really liked it

It is a failed pilot to comedy central which kind of makes me mad because they have turned down so much good stuff like Gay Robot etc. But this show was a little corny, but from that it was funny and I hate corny family programing but this isn't really like that. I wish they would have attempted to give it to other networks like G4 maybe even MTV 2 but I don't know maybe this pilot will get picked up one day its only been 2 years since it was rejected pilots have been picked up later. Its about these two guys who work at a comic book store, and its just there life of working there. Brian Posehn and Patton Oswalt are two people who I think deserve something like this. They were both perfect at the role because they themselves were nerds when they were younger. There's still hope for Super Nerds.

Sort of like merging "Big Bang Theory" with some nasty comic book guys.

While "Big Bang Theory" became a huge hit and folks loved it, "Super Nerds" bombed and wasn't approved for additional episodes beyond the pilot. Why? Both have strong similarities...but "Super Nerds" managed to create nerdy characters (in particular, Gayle) who you just cannot like. I think this is the key to why the show failed.

The program is set in a comic book store where Leslie (Patton Oswalt) works and Gayle (Brian Posehn) hangs out all the time. They are the stereotypical comic book nerds, though they are tough to like...particularly Gayle. As women come into the store, their ineptness with women is obvious. But when Gwen enters the place, Gayle does his best to drive her away when he learns that she is smitten with Leslie. And so the show ends.

I think had they re-written Gayle's character significantly, the show might have worked. Several times, he just seemed ultra-selfish and cruel. Leslie was easier to like but like Gayle was a bit too obviously written. Not a horrible show idea...but the writing really seemed to let the audience down.
