Departing CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star William Petersen has hinted he'll return for a big screen version of the hit TV drama.

The actor, who will give up his role as forensics expert Gil Grissom on the show during the forthcoming season, admits there have been talks about turning the series into a blockbuster movie for years - and it still might come off.

Petersen, who will stay on as a producer of the show after his departure this autumn, says, "I'd love to see us make a CSI film... That's the reason Grissom isn't going to die of a brain tumour.

"It would be good if we did it (film) right. The whole world is interested in the show... (but) you have to make sure it's not just an extended episode."

Refusing to confirm their much reported romance, Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard apparently simply let their public display of affection (Pda) do the talking as they've been spotted kissing all night during an outing at Teddy's. Still neither of them has come out of the closet about their love relationship though.

Lauren and Kyle visited Teddy's on Saturday night, September 27. There the twosome was seen engaging in "some serious public display of affection," E! Online reports. "They were making out and just totally being a couple," a source testified, adding "they were kissing all night."

That wasn't the first time Lauren and Kyle were spotted together. They, in fact, were often seen together all over the town. However, a representative for her declined to comment on the stars' alleged romance.

Having premiered season five of "CSI: NY" on Wednesday, September 24, CBS move on by previewing the next episode of the crime drama series. The short snippet of episode 5.02 teases the performance of musical guest star Maroon 5 and the problem the forensic team have to solve next time.

Entitled "Page Turner", the episode will tell the story when the Grammy Award-winning pop rock band are performing in front of their 50,000 devoted fans. What supposed to be a great time for the fans turns horrific when all of them are said to be facing a deathly future in 24 hours. NBC continued to mow down the competition in what was officially the last week of the summer season, with Sunday Night Football attracting an astonishing 22.2 million viewers. On Fox the season debut of Fox's House also proved potent as it attracted 14.8 million. It also boosted the ratings of Fringe, which followed and which held on to 13.3 million of those viewers. The figure was half again as many as those who tuned in to the series premiere. On the other hand, ABC's telecast of the 60th annual Primetime Emmys drew just 12.3 million viewers, the lowest in the awards show history. Meanwhile, in cable ratings, Espn continued to dominate thanks to Monday Night Football, which drew more viewers than any show on the broadcast networks. Its first four games have averaged 13.32 million viewers, up 27 percent over last year. Actor Laurence Fishburne has praised William Petersen since replacing his character on hit U.S. TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - because he raised standards for television.

Petersen - one of the show's original cast members - is set to leave his post as crime investigator Gil Grissom, though he will remain an executive producer on the series.

His absence is marked by Fishburne's debut in the show's forthcoming 10th season next month.

Presenting an award at Sunday's 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, Petersen said: "I'm honoured to hand over the keys to the lab to a wonderful actor and a new friend, Mister Laurence Fishburne."

The actor responded by humbly adding: "Thank you Billy, I just hope I can live up to the high standards you've set not only for the first CSI series but for the many CSI series that have followed in your footsteps."

The biggest cable-tv audience in history tuned in Monday to ESPN's Monday Night Football coverage of the Dallas Cowboys/Philadelphia Eagles contest, the network said Tuesday. The game drew 18.608 million viewers, beating a record set a year earlier. Meanwhile, football also proved to be potent on broadcast television as well, as NBC Sunday Night Football's telecast of the Pittsburgh Steelers/Cleveland Browns game topped Nielsen's weekly ratings list. Rumer Willis is going to guest appear in "CSI: NY". Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has reported that the starlet who has recently starred alongside Anna Faris in "The House Bunny" will be tackling a character whose name coincides with the lead character Mac Taylor, played by Gary Sinise, on the series' 100th episode.

In the episode to be aired on November 19, she will be one of a serial killer's targets only because her name is Mac Taylor. Apart from this "CSI: NY" part, she has also been set to star in the October 12 episode of another television series "Army Wives". There, she will be portraying the wife of a soldier who is injured in Iraq.

In the meantime, "CSI: NY" special episode will see the joining in of new detective, portrayed by Julia Ormond, and the return of hip-hop artist Nelly as a club owner who is also a confidential informant to the forensic scientists.

Hugh Laurie is likely to become the highest-paid British television actor ever after signing a new deal to star in Fox's House at $400,000 per episode, or more than $9 million a year, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The only two actors who receive a higher per-episode fee, according to the trade publication, are CSI's William Petersen, who earns $600,000 per episode, and 24's Kiefer Sutherland, who earns $500,000 per episode.

Actor Paul Reubens has denied reports he will make a return to TV opposite Laurence Fishburne in hit U.S. show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

The Pee-wee Herman star was rumoured to have been recruited by Fishburne after the actor was cast in the series to replace William Petersen earlier this month.

A source tells the National Enquirer that Fishburne wanted Reubens "to play... a psychopathic killer after something goes horribly wrong in his life," in a bid to help the actor revive his career, adding, "The only person who can possibly reach him is Fishburne."

But Reubens' spokesperson Carrie Byalick has denied the reports, telling WENN: "That story is false."

In a move apparently aimed at protecting CBS's most lucrative franchise, William Petersen, who's leaving CSI: Crime Scene Investigation this season is being replaced by film star Laurence Fishburne, the network announced Monday. It said that Fishburne will be introduced on a forthcoming show as a college professor/criminologist who studies the reasons people turn to crime and who is asked to consult on a case with the CSI team. Latest: Actor Laurence Fishburne has won the casting war to replace William Petersen in the hit U.S. TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Fishburne - who was said to be battling for the role with legendary screen star John Malkovich - will play a forensics scientist in the series.

The actor said in a statement: "I am elated and delighted to be joining the cast of CSI," adding his new work will be a "wonderful collaboration".

Show executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Naren Shankar said in a joint statement: "Without hesitation, we said (to CBS bosses) Laurence Fishburne (should take the part). He is a powerful and intense actor, with an incredible range."

Petersen has been with the series since its 2000 debut and will remain an executive producer on the show.

Charlie Sheen is the highest paid actor on U.S. TV, pocketing a whopping $825,000 (GBP412,500) per episode for his hit comedy Two And A Half Men, according to a new poll.

The star's huge earnings includes profits for ownership rights of the programme.

Sheen is way ahead of his nearest contender William Petersen, who takes home $600,000 (GBP300,000) per show for his role as Gil Grissom on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Actress Mariska Hargitay is the best paid female in a prime-time TV drama - she earns an estimated $400,000 (GBP200,000) for every Law + Order: Special Victims Unit (Svu) episode she films.

The cast of The Simpsons are also well-paid - each voice actor receives $400,000 per episode.

Others on the TV Guide magazine list include American Idol judge Simon Cowell, who gets $50 million (GBP25 million) per season of the talent show, and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, whose five-year deal with TV network Fox is worth $100 million (GBP50 million).

But the highest paid TV celebrity by far is chat show queen Oprah Winfrey - her annual salary from her talkshow alone is $385 million (GBP197 million).

The Canadian-produced Flashpoint continued to garner impressive ratings Thursday as it won the 10:00 p.m. time period for CBS and held on to virtually all of its lead in from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, winding up with a 5.5 rating and a 10 share. Marc Berman, who writes the "Programming Insider" column for MediaWeek, commented, "There is every reason to now believe the broadcast networks will rely more on quality Canadian programming in the future." Flashpoint, a Canadian-produced cop drama that CBS picked up during the writers' strike when production of U.S. shows had shut down, placed first in its 10:00 p.m. time period Thursday night and retained virtually all of the audience of its lead-in, a rerun of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Some 14.5 million people were singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" last week, making Fox's coverage of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game the most-watched telecast of the week.
