Talk about a blast from the past! On Jan. 14, Kate Bosworth posted photos of herself hanging out with Chris Evans on the set of their 2000 movie The Newcomers. "Hey Capt. America, a little help pls??" she captioned the snapshots. "(asking for a 15 yr old from the late 90's ...) @chrisevans." Of course, fans couldn't get enough of the throwback, with many of them commenting the now 38-year-old actress and 39-year-old actor looked like "babies" in the pictures. "Truly," Bosworth replied to one fan. "How is he normal looking and I look so fckn dorky." While Bosworth may have felt like a "full dork," her followers had...

There is no Cannes Film Festival this year, but there are Cannes Film Festival films this year. Pierre Lescure and Thierry Frémaux from Cannes officially announced a selection of 56 films that would've been in the main line-up at the 2020 festival. It's still hard to figure out what the point of this is, but they've been saying it's to bring attention to these films and allow them to exist with the "official Cannes selection" designation. "Comprising fifty-six films to be accompanied by the Festival for their release in cinemas and screenings at certain festivals." The 56 films are listed in brand new, very basic categories including "The Faithful" (or at least selected once before), "The Newcomers" (first time at Cannes), finally "The First Features", along with some documentaries and comedies. Truffle Hunters from Sundance is listed, and Peninsula, the Korean zombie horror Train to Busan sequel, plus Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch...

Since walking the boards all the way back in 2000 for The Newcomers, Paul Dano has steadily built a strong cinematic résumé across both acting and producing.
Collecting awards here and there for brilliant turns in Little Miss Sunshine and, more recently, as John Tibeats in 12 Years a Slave, one thing that’s been curiously missing from said résumé is a directing credit, but today, Variety brings word that Dano’s feature film debut has hit the ground running, casting both Carey Mulligan and Nocturnal Animals star Jake Gyllenhaal.
It’s called Wildlife, and will be based on Richard Ford’s eponymous coming-of-age novel that centers on a divorce as told through the lens of 16-year-old boy, Joe Brinson. While Variety didn’t disclose casting specifics, we fully assume that Mulligan and Gyllenhaal will play those parents teetering on the brink, with Zoe Kazan and Dano himself working on an adaptation of Ford’s novel.
