Violence & Gore

  • The Cancelled Sega Genesis version of Prince of Persia 2 also shows blood in the game.
  • There are many ways the Prince of Persia can die including falling to his death, getting stabbed to death by the guards or skeletons sword, having the Prince drown in water, having the Prince sink in quicksand, getting shot to death by a cannon dart or floor titles fall on the Princes head. Getting bitten by a poisonous snake or getting bitten by a floating head, or getting crushed by a ceiling on a flying carpet or getting crushed to death by a stone door crushing the prince or getting crushed by a moving wall.
  • There is red blood shown in the game if the Prince gets killed including getting stabbed in the spiked wall, getting sliced in half by a scythe in the wall. Also attacking the floating dead head also causes it to bleed.
  • Also slicing the snake in half shows him bleeding. Also the enemy guards can get killed by spikes in walls or the scythe slicing them half.
  • If the Prince tries to touch the blue flame in the palace, he will burn to death. But if the Prince allows the enemy guard to kill him with the sword, then his spirit will touch the blue flame and grant him magical powers and bring him back to life with the guards bowing before him.
  • The PC version of Prince of Persia 2 shows blood in the game if the prince or the guard gets killed.
  • The SNES version of Prince of Persia 2 also shows blood in the game which was unusual during the time of Nintendo censorship.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The gameplay of Prince of Persia 2 The Shadow and the Flame is notable for its difficulty in involving timing the leaps over pits, loose tiles and pressuring players to run through the gate before it closes which can be frustrating especially the high difficulty of the prince trying to leap on the horse statue.
  • The scene with the guards trying to arrest the real Prince shows him breaking through the window which may be a little intense for kids.
  • The palace guard getting killed by the sword can be heard screaming as he falls to his death.
  • The prince can be seen sinking in the quicksand if you don't step on the stepping stones in the right order.
  • While the Prince escapes in a merchant ship, Jaffer will cause a storm at sea to cause waves rising and then lightning to strike the ship leaving the Prince stranded on an island, this scene may be frightening to kids.
  • The cutscene with Jaffer barging in her room and putting the princess in a coma may be too frightening to little kids.
  • The skeletons coming to life may scare little kids.
  • The floating dead heads screaming to attack and screaming after getting killed may be too scary for kids.
  • The Prince can be heard screaming before falling in lava or falling off a cliff which may be too scary for kids.
  • The death scenes were the prince or the guards gets killed by spikes in walls or the scythe slicing them in half or the snake getting sliced in half, or the Prince getting burned up or Jaffer getting burned up may be too disturbing for kids and sensitive people.
  • Suggested ESRB rating: Rated T for blood, violence, peril, scary scenes.

Violence & Gore

  • In the final Showdown against Jaffar, if the Prince hits Jaffer with his flame dart, then Jaffers body will burn up and Jaffar will scream and die which may be the most upsetting graphic death scene for some viewers, thus waking up the Princess and restoring order in the kingdom.
