Trivia:
Molly Price was absent for most of season 5, due to her pregnancy. She gave birth to a baby boy named Jake in mid-November of 2003. more

Factual errors: In several episodes, the ambulance that is often used by the paramedics has a license plate number of BN6-30L. In New York, that would be a passenger plate number, also, FDNY ambulances use official plates. more
Quotes:
Bosco: Wait until my partner here gets finished with the report. You'll be so guilty even you won't like yourself.
Yokas: Oh, that's sweet.
Bosco: Well, you're the best at it.
Yokas: Isn't he a smooth talker?
Charlie: You're gonna lie?
Yokas: Lie? Lie? Now that is a very offensive characterization.

Strong writing and better-than-average acting make "Third Watch" one of the best shows in syndication. As a former volunteer fire-fighter, I'd argue that some of the fire-fighting techniques portrayed would not be employed by real fire-fighters in any circumstances; also, some of the plot contrivances used to integrate the characters' personal and professional lives are treacly as hell. But, all in all, this is a most entertaining show to watch--far superior to "E. R." or "Law & Order"--whether you're drunk or sober.
